Falun Gong Practitioner Gao Mingguang's Suffering as a Result of the Persecution in Anshan City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gao Mingguang used to live in Anshan City, Liaoning Province. In 2000, the authorities illegally sentenced him to three years of forced labor because he refused to give up the practice of Falun Gong. Because Mr. Gao adhered to his belief, the prison guards put him under close surveillance in the second group, where political commissar Zhang Zhenyang and the group leader instigated prisoner Ma and over a dozen inmates to torture him with beatings, the "sitting board" torture* and sleep deprivation.

Zhang, the chief of education section, and Wang Lingji, the team leader didn't stop these atrocities. Instead, they forced Mr. Gao to step on a picture of Teacher. Gao refused, so the police beat him badly, leaving blood all over his face.

In March 2003, Gao's wife was killed in traffic accident, which left two young kids with no one to look after them. They had to leave school, unable to support themselves otherwise. The authorities of the forced labor camp only let Gao out for a brief visit, taking him back to jail even before his wife's funeral was over. At present Mr. Gao Mingguang is still imprisoned in the Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Perpetrators of the persecution:

Political commissar: Zhang Zhenyang
The chief of education section: Zhang
Team leader: Wang Lingji
The group leader of the second group, prisoner Ma, etc.

* Note: "Sitting Board" is a torture wherein everyday, practitioners put their hands on top of their laps, with backs straight and sitting on benches 18 hours per day. The authorities even limit practitioners' restroom use time. Because of the long time spent sitting on hard benches, practitioners' buttocks tend to develop large sores that hurt badly.
