Over ten Dafa practitioners who have been illegally held in the Hongweixing Prison in Daqing City, including Zhu Hongbin, who is an employee of Drilling Plant No. 7, went on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention. Zhu Hongbin has been on the hunger strike for over twenty days, and his life is in danger. The guards tortured these Dafa practitioners by force-feeding them with large amounts of salt.

During his illegal detention in the Wujiapu Forced Labor Camp in Fushun City, Huang Yunlong was brutally tortured, causing an accumulation of fluid in his lungs. He was very weak. This might be one of the reasons that the officials of the forced labor camp tightly blocked the information and did not allow Falun Dafa practitioners' family members to visit them. The forced labor camp didn't give him medical treatment, but forced his family members to pay 5,000 Yuan as a deposit and told them they could take Huang Yunlong and get him some medical treatment. The officials of the labor camp came up with a pleasant-sounding name for this, calling it, "bailing out on medical grounds."

Recently, for fear of the officials' inspection, the guards in the Tangshan Detention Center transferred the illegally detained Dafa practitioners to Tangshan City's "Law School" (which is actually a brainwashing center). Dafa practitioner Zhang Yunping has been illegally detained in this detention center since their material site was damaged at the beginning of this year. Currently the Tangshan Detention Center plans to unlawfully sentence Zhang Yunping.

Before this February, Falun Dafa practitioners, including Zhao Shumei and Shi Rong, were unlawfully arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Guangzhou. They are currently being held in the Third Team of the Cuotou Forced Labor Camp in Shijing Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou City. They have been unlawfully sentenced to imprisonment, and will not be released until July 2004.

On July 9, 2003, police from the Qilidun Police Station illegally broke into and ransacked the homes of five Dafa practitioners in Tianshui, Gansu Province. They also unlawfully arrested Sun Qianjin, his wife Zhang Aifang, and Liu Qiye. They are being unlawfully detained in the Qincheng Detention Center. The other two Dafa practitioners' names are unknown.

Henan Oil Exploration Bureau (also called the Henan Oil Field or the Nanyang Oil Field) has several affiliated units, including the Second Oil Production Plant, and the Drilling Well Company. On the morning of July 11, Dafa practitioner Wang Wanrong, who is an employee of the Drilling Well Company of the Henan Oil Exploration Bureau, was unlawfully arrested and sent to the Brainwashing Class in the Nanyang Political and Law College by the company's security guards. Before that, Wang Wanrong had been illegally detained and tortured many times in Tanghe County's Detention Center, Nanzhao County's Detention Center, the Brainwashing Class in the Henan Oil Exploration Bureau's Technical School and the Brainwashing Class in the Nanyang Political and Law College because she refused to write a "Reformation Letter" and persisted in clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. It has been reported that this time, many Dafa practitioners in Nanyang were unlawfully arrested and sent to the Brainwashing Class in the Nanyang Political and Law College. Since 2000, there have been many brainwashing classes held in the Nanyang Political and Law College every year.

Zang Yubin and Jiang Hao, employees of the Sa'nan Industrial Corporation in Daqing City always harass Dafa practitioners who have retired from their corporation, and threaten the practitioners, saying that they will be sent to a brainwashing class if they refuse to write the "Guarantee Letter." They also discontinued some Dafa practitioners' retirement pension.
