Huazi Prison in Liaoyang City Persecutes Mr. Tian Xiaofei and Other Dafa Practitioners
August 29, 2003
(Clearwisdom.net) Tian Xiaofei is a Dafa practitioner in Benxi City, Liaoning
Province. He was abducted by police in March of 2002 and detained in the Huazi
Prison in Liaoyang City. He was cited with fabricated charges and illegally
sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. His home was also searched and personal
belongings were taken away, including 10,000 Yuan cash.
On July 20, 2003, he and over fifty other practitioners who were detained in
the prison started a hunger strike, protesting the illegal imprisonment. Tian
Xiaofei was brutally beaten. He was hit, his teeth were knocked loose and his
face swelled from the beating. He was carried out of the prison on a stretcher.
When his family called the prison and asked if he was beaten, the prison police
hung up the phone.
Currently, five to six practitioners are still on hunger strike, which has
lasted for over 30 days and the practitioners' lives are now in danger. The
prison police tried to coerce their families to pay for doctors' medical
treatment, but the families refused. At this time, we don't know whether or not
the practitioners are still alive.
