Police in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province Hold Falun Dafa Practitioner's Husband as a Hostage

Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Aijie from Qinhuangdao City was arrested by police on June 20, 2003, but was unconditionally released after holding a hunger strike. At eight o'clock in the morning of August 21, 2003, officers from the Police Department of Public Transportation Sub-Bureau at Qinhuangdao City burst into her house and illegally took her to a forced labor camp by lying to her with the excuse, "Your medical certificate shows that your physical examination has failed. You will be returned home after going there as a mere formality." They also said malevolently, "If you don't go, we will drag you there anyway."

Ms. Yu Aijie clarified the truth to the police, but they did not listen at all. The police asked her husband if he could guarantee that his wife would give up practicing Falun Gong. Her husband said he could not ensure that. Then the police called their head officer and asked him what they should do. The police leader said, "Bring her husband here." (her husband used to be the Detention Center Deputy Head).
