After Master lectured at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference, we continued to receive letters from practitioners trying to understand various aspects of sending forth righteous thoughts. Dafa disciples need to study the Fa with peace of mind to truly understand the essence of sending forth righteous thoughts. After that, the disciples also need to recognize that those behind-the-scene "helpers" are part of the old forces. Then, by following the instructions within Master's October 13, 2002 article, "Righteous Thoughts," practitioners will achieve the best results when sending forth righteous thoughts. If we treat sending forth righteous thoughts as a special tool for a specific task, similar to tools in everyday society, or if we add some intention based on personal understandings or specific goals, our ability to eliminate the evil will be seriously limited, and the result will not be good.

Guizhou practitioners firmly resisted brainwashing since the beginning of the establishment of the brainwashing center there. Since the very beginning, everyone refused to cooperate with the evil. As Dafa practitioners, they did what they should do. In the brainwashing center, the practitioners came together for Fa-study and group practice. They formed a single body. If one person was not released or was sent to a forced-labor camp, the whole group would protest and resist the persecution. Eventually, everyone was released.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Linfa is 63 years old. On June 8, 2000, in order to expose the unjust treatments on Falun Gong, Mr. Li went to Beijing for the seventh time to appeal. He was illegally arrested and detained at the Duyun Detention Center for 30 days.

In November 2001, more than thirty police officers from Guanghuilu Police Station and "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] broke into Mr. Li's home without showing any official identification or warrants. They took away Falun Dafa books and illegally imprisoned Mr. Li at Duyun Detention Center again. In order to send Mr. Li to a forced labor camp, the police changed Mr. Li's age from 63 to 60 on the paperwork. Mr. Li was then sentenced to three years in the Guiyang City Zhongba Labor Camp. When questioned on why Mr. Li's age was changed, the officials from "610 Office" evaded responsibility by claiming that the police station officers had done it.

In August 2003, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yueyang, Ms. Wang Ping, was once again illegally arrested and detained at the Yueyang County Detention Center. The first day she was there, police beat Ms. Wang severely, causing her features to be contorted after the beating. The police then handcuffed and shackled Ms. Wang. Ms. Wang started a hunger strike as soon as she was arrested. On the fourth day, she was force-fed by the police. Her hands were cuffed behind her back, and her feet were tied together from morning until dinnertime. Ms. Wang suffered a heart attack at the detention center, and she was sent to a hospital.

On July 27, 2003, Mr. Sun Hongda was arrested by local police while distributing truth-explaining material at the Fangzhen County's Lotus Festival. He is being imprisoned at the Fangzhen County Detention Center. The local police are currently trying to send him to forced labor camp.

On August 26, 2003, Mr. Zhang Dianwen was abducted from his home to the Daguang Detention Center because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. Mr. Zhang is 46 years old, and he lived in the Xiaonan District of Changchun City.

Mr. Zhang benefited from practicing Falun Dafa both physically and mentally. He and his family lived in harmony. He used to have a small grocery story, and business was great. In 2001, Mr. Zhang was arrested and persecuted at the Changchun City Chaoyanggou Labor Camp. His shop was forced to close up as a result of his sentence.

Mr. Zhang got out of the evil den in 2002. In order to make a living, he traveled around town on a three-wheeler selling bean oil. People trusted him because they knew he was a Falun Dafa practitioner and a good person. They were all willing to buy oil from him. At the same time, they liked to hear him explain the truth about Falun Dafa. Although it was hard work, at least Mr. Zhang was able to make a living. Such an honest and law-abiding person cannot live in peace in his own home just because he practices Falun Dafa. Once again, Mr. Zhang was placed under arrest and is being subjected to the most inhuman persecution.

The city of Changsha is going to host the National City Gamesin October. In preparation for the event, another round of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners is underway. Furong district's "610 Office" organized a "Reform Discussion Forum." Three Falun Dafa practitioners, who have remained steadfast since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, were kidnapped to the "forum" [brainwashing center] and subjected to brainwashing. The police threatened to send them to a forced labor camp if they did not give up the practice. The "610 Office" agents had hoped to collect and study so-called "reform experiences," and they wished to spread their methods to other districts in the city. They also had planned to set up brainwashing centers around the city in October.

Mr. Gong Fengqiang and his wife, Li Yangjie, both work for Yilan Coalmine in Heilongjiang province. The local "610 Office" and the No. 2 Mining Region of the mine are attempting to send the couple and their three years old daughter to Shuangchen Brainwashing Center in Heilongjiang province. Mr. Gong and his wife were requested to take all their valuable possessions to relatives' places for storage, and the rest are to be inventoried and stored at Mr. Gong's workplace. In addition, Mr. Gong's family is under 24-hour surveillance by two employees from the coalmine. They are carrying 4,000 Yuan and are ready to escort the family to the brainwashing center at anytime. Since Mr. Gong and his wife refuse to cooperate, and their parents are also trying to intervene, they have reached a deadlock at this moment.

On July 22, 2003, Mr. Yi Qingshi and his wife, Zhang Cuixin, were posting Falun Dafa banners along a street in their village. The assistant director of Guxian Police Station, Cui Shuang, and police officer Chang Tianjun arrested them. They were jailed at the police station for two days and two nights. On July 24, Mr. Yi was sent to Pingdu City Detention Center, while his wife was sent to Qingdao Detention Center. Neither of them has been released so far.

Under the instructions from the local "610 Office," Shiyan City Police Department adopted a wide range of illegal methods to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. For example, they broke into practitioners' homes without warrants and kidnapped them to the Xiajiadian Forced Labor Camp for brainwashing, and they intensified the surveillance on practitioners. They also hired some thugs to hang around various places in the city to catch Falun Gong practitioners who were passing out truth-clarifying materials.
