Dafa Practitioners in New Zealand Held a News Conference on Hong Kong's Frivolous Lawsuit Charging Practitioners with "Blocking the Street"

About one year ago, a frivolous lawsuit in Hong Kong accused 16 Falun Gong practitioners of "Blocking the Street." Falun Gong practitioners appealed the sentence and the court reviewed the case on September 3. Jennifer Li, a New Zealand citizen held a news conference to describe this case in front of the Chinese Embassy in Herington, New Zealand.

March 14, 2002, Jennifer Li, four Falun Gong practitioners from Switzerland, and eleven Hong Kong practitioners staged a peaceful appeal in the form of meditation in front of the China Liaison Office in Hong Kong. Hong Kong police removed them by force and detained them at the police station. Afterward, these 16 practitioners were accused of several fabricated violations including blocking the street, impeding public work, assaulting police, etc. Without any witnesses, they were sentenced and fined.

Jennifer Li said that the peaceful appeal by Falun Gong practitioners was fully lawful under Hong Kong Basic Law and should be protected by Hong Kong law enforcement. Hong Kong police used violence against peaceful Falun Gong practitioners just for appealing and subsequently framed them is really a manifestation of the dark minions that are extended overseas from Jiang's political scoundrels. Because of this case, Jennifer also said, she is not permitted to freely enter Hong Kong by the Immigration Department. This makes her unable to join her only son in Hong Kong.

Jennifer said that she is 60-years-old and has practiced Falun Gong for 7 years. Falun Gong has benefited her body and mind. Because of these benefits, she is free of illness and has an open mind and treats people with kindness. However, for its own self-interest and drive, Jiang Zemin has used the power in his possession to initiate the inhumane persecution against Falun Gong. For the past four years, as many as 100 million Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted, and hundreds of thousands were sent to jail, forced into labor camps, and mental hospitals. Thousands were persecuted to death and this persecution still continues.

Jennifer Li appealed to compassionate New Zealand people to pay attention to the genocide occurring right now in Mainland China, to care about the future of Hong Kong, to jointly resist the spread of the evil to other countries, and help put the dictator of terror before a tribunal of justice.

Dominion Post, the biggest local English newspaper, interviewed Jennifer Li. Jennifer also demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises and provided detailed information about the fabricated charges in Hong Kong.
