Torture to Extort a Confession from Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Lianjun On September 2, 2003, personnel from Linhai City's Dalinghe Police Precinct arrested Dafa
practitioner Mr. Li Lianjun in the city. As of September 8, when I submitted this article, he is
still being brutally tortured and interrogated at the Dalinghe Police Precinct's vice squad for the
Political & Security Section. The police precinct regards this case as "very
important" and attempted to arrest more Falun Gong practitioners. The day before yesterday,
plain-clothes policemen suddenly surrounded a residential building in Jincheng Town. They attempted
to arrest practitioners that went into the building. Police also harassed practitioners at their
homes, and it's likely be related to this case. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Lan Resists Persecution with Righteous
Thoughts at a Brainwashing Center At noon on September 3, five or six policemen from the Shuangta District Longshan Police Station
arrested Ms. Wang Lan at her work unit, Chaoyang City's No. 2 Senior Middle School. She was forcibly
sent to a so-called "Ideological Education Class" held at the Xidayingzi Forced Labor
Camp, which is in fact a brainwashing center. Wang Lan sustained a serious head wound while
resisting the persecution, and became unconscious. Wang Fucun, head of the "610 Office,"*
was afraid of being held responsible and had to order someone to send Wang back home. According to people who tortured Wang Lan, the police have compiled a list of names of over 60
Dafa practitioners for this brainwashing class, and Wang Lan was the first one. But because Wang Lan
resisted the police persecution from the very beginning, they failed in their attempt. * "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun
Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and
judiciary systems. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Police Arrest Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhu Bangfu; His Whereabouts is
Unknown During the morning of September 9, 2003, police arrested Mr. Zhu Bangfu at work at the
Deshengqiao Trade Market in the Wuchang District. Policemen involved in this arrest included six
from the Zhonghua Road Police Station under Wuchang District's Police Sub-department and Huangpo
District's Police Sub-department. Zhu Bangfu's whereabouts are currently unknown. Zhu Bangfu, 62, was sentenced to one year of forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal for
Falun Gong in 2000. This year, he wrote an appeal letter to all levels of police, prosecutor's
offices and court agencies in Hubei Province, accusing the unit that sentenced him. [Suining County, Sichuan Province] Personnel from the Police Station in Bianhe Town, Daying
County Repeatedly Persecute Local Dafa Practitioner Ms. Tang Guangying In May 2003, police broke into Ms. Tang Guangying's home for no reason other than the fact that
she devoted herself to practicing Falun Gong. They found several copies of Dafa truth-clarifying
materials and CDs, and took her to a police station. Because she refused to cooperate with the
lawless police, did not reveal the source of the materials, and did not sign the "guarantee
statement"* to give up her beliefs, she was put into a detention center. Police told her family
that her case was "very serious." In order to get her out, her family had to pay 3,000
Yuan** in "fines" before she was finally released. On August 25, policemen, including He Zhongrui, once again broke into her store and turned it
inside out. They once again put her into a detention center because they found a copy of Zhuan
Falun and two copies of Dafa truth-clarifying materials. They also threatened to sentence her to
a forced labor camp. At the same time, policemen also took identical action against two other Falun Gong practitioners
-- Ms. Peng Aihua and Ms. Li Suhua. As they couldn't find any incriminating evidence, they had to

public. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Many Practitioners Detained Recently, police in Changchun City started another round of arrests of practitioners, targeting
those practitioners who had Dafa books at home. On August 11, 2003, the officers from the Kuancheng
District Xingyie Police Precinct arrested practitioners Ms. Zhang Daidi, Ms. Yang Guirong, Ms. Li,
Ms. Sun Hongjuan, Ms. Wang Lihua, and Ms. Wang Lijie. The latter three practitioners have
disabilities. Practitioner Ms. Hou Yuhong, who lives near the Tienan Hospital, was also arrested.
They are now detained at the Daguang Detention Center. [Zhenlai County, Jilin Province] Belated News: Practitioner Cao Xiuying, Who Gave Up Falun Gong
Practice under High Pressure, is Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor 1. Ms. Cao Xiuying, a railroad worker from Zhenlai County in Jilin Province, was put into the
Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for one year because she appealed in Beijing for Falun Gong in December
2000. She endured much suffering. Her health was poor and she became covered with scabies, but was
released home after her detention term expired. In March 2002, though she had not recovered from the torture, a group of people from the local
police precinct and security office, led by Wang Zhigang, came to her home, convinced her to open
the door, and then ransacked her home. They took away Dafa books and Master's picture, and arrested
her. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor and is again detained at Changchun City's
Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Cao's husband was also sentenced to one year of forced labor. Their
child, an elementary school student, lost her parents and now stays alone at home. 2. Shen Jun, a policeman from Zhenlai County's Security Section, tortured several practitioners
along with vicious officers. In July 2002, Shen Jun led a gang of perpetrators to a practitioner's
work unit and ordered the practitioner to slander Master. Because the practitioner refused, Shen Jun
took the practitioner to the Da'an Brainwashing Class. After that, Shen Jun used the same method to
persecute other practitioners. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Arrested The Baoding City "610 Office" officials secretly detained about a dozen practitioners
near the city's textile mill. [Hebei Province] Ms. Bian Wenhua Is Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor Ms. Bian Wenhua from Qingyuan Helangying Village in Hebei Province was sentenced to two years of
forced labor. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Ms. Dong Chunling and Mr.
Zhang Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang, a member of Geological Team 519, was arrested when he was clarifying
the truth. He is now detained at a brainwashing center. Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Chunling, who was recently released from a forced labor camp, was
again arrested simply because she said that she would continue to practice Falun Gong. Now she too
is detained at a brainwashing center. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Meng Fanquan Mr. Meng Fanquan is a teacher at the Light Industry School for Hebei Province's Technical
University. On May 12, 2003 he escaped from Tangshang City's Legal System Education School, another
name for a brainwashing class. He returned home after being homeless to avoid illegal arrest for
three months. But on August 29, a police officer, who pried open his burglarproof door, arrested
him. His wife and eleven-year-old son were tackled by policemen. His wife's left arm and hand were
injured. Meng Quanfan's whereabouts are currently unknown. Heads of the Light Industry School for Hebei Province's Technical University: [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Shuiquliu Town's "610 Office" and Police Precinct
Officers Extort Money from Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Wenpeng On February 28, 2003, Shuiquliu Town's "610 Office" perpetrators in Shulan City, Jinlin
Province extorted 2,000 Yuan from Mr. Wang, and the local police precinct officials extorted 1,326
Yuan from him. They said this was the "fee" for going to Beijing. They shamefully claimed
that 690 Yuan was for accommodation expenses, 110 Yuan was for transportation in the city, and 526
Yuan was for train and ship travel expenses. They deducted this amount of money from Wang's salary.
Afterwards Wang was fired. His unit even demanded 60 Yuan for keeping his files. Now Wang leads a
very difficult life. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Printers Dafa Practitioners from Daqing City Bought Were
