Japan: Practitioners Clarify the Truth and Introduce Falun Dafa in Front of Parliament During the Visit of Chinese Official Wu Bangguo

We heard that the Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, Wu Bangguo, would visit Japan from September 4-10, 2003. The Falun Dafa Association in Japan wrote to the Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi and Foreign Minister Yoshiko Kawaguchi, calling for China to stop persecuting Falun Gong and to release detained Falun Dafa practitioner Yoko Kaneko, the wife of a Japanese citizen. We also sent appeal letters and Falun Dafa materials to the offices of leaders both the Senate and the Parliament.

Falun Dafa practitioners appealed in front of the Parliament from September 2-9, 2003. They called for China to stop persecuting Falun Gong immediately, passed out Dafa truth clarifying materials, and clarified the facts.

Police officers told us that due to the visit of Chinese officials, the appeals in front of the Parliament would all be canceled. Practitioners realized this was a good opportunity to clarify the truth. We told the police officers that our purpose was to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. We also told them how practitioners were being tortured in China, and how Falun Dafa has spread all over the world to more than 60 countries. We talked for almost one hour, and the police officers' attitudes changed.

Upon arriving at the Parliament on the morning of September 5^th, the police asked us to leave immediately, since Wu Bangguo would be at the Parliament all day that day. Practitioners patiently explained the facts to the police.

The police came to understand how Falun Gong is being persecuted in China. Some told us, "We knew this." Some told us, "Before, I had only heard of the name of Falun Gong. Over these 3 days, Falun Gong is being talked about everywhere. Finally I now understand."

Just like that, many police stood by our sides all day. We thanked them in the afternoon upon ending our appeal. One police officer said, "Falun Gong students are so calm and peaceful."
