Facts of the Persecution of Practitioners by Lawless Officials at Weifang Simian Textile Group in Weifang City, Shandong Province

Weifang Simian Textile Group Co., Ltd. in Weifang City, Shandong Province is a government owned company with four thousand five hundred employees. Since June 1999, company officials followed Jiang's regime and started persecuting Falun Gong. More than a dozen employees were fired, expelled, terminated, or forced to resign because they practice Falun Gong. One of the practitioners was forced to have a divorce. The lawless officials use every opportunity and method to coerce practitioners to give up the practice. For example, they refused to issue marriage certificates to practitioners.

On multiple occasions, the company's marketing department, television station, and Simian Yuhua News (company newspaper) were used to slander Falun Gong. The officials forced Falun Dafa practitioners to be filmed speaking the slanderous words in contained in their prepared scripts. Practitioner's words were taken out of context and extorted. Such film was shown through enclosed television network in the company. According to cameraman Jia Xuanhua, the film was submitted to the provincial television station and was given an award.

The company's security department purchased handcuffs, electric batons, and sticks with steel needles [used for beating people]. They illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioners for as long as three months. Practitioners were not allowed to take shower, go home, talk, or cover themselves at night in the winter. They were even being watched when using the restroom. The head of the security department, Guo Qingyu, once instructed Hong Xin, Zhang Yongtao and others to break the door of practitioner Hang Zhunai's home. They kidnapped her to a local police station and had her illegally detained for 15 days.

The company's education department organized brainwashing sessions for over fifty Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners were forced to write the so-called "guarantee statement", "repentance statement" and "Disssociation Statement". They were also forced to watch videos that slander Falun Dafa. Afterwards, a few people were selected to share their so-called "experiences" on stage.

[Guarantee Statement - A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

Repentance Statement - In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practicing Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

Disssociation Statement - A statement to declare a dissociation with Falun Gong and promise not go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.]

These practitioners were confirmed being terminated from their jobs: Ms. Zhu Aixia, Ms. Dong Zhunli, Ms. Xie Jihua, Ms. Li Chunmei, Ms. Jiao Huifang, Ms. Sun Jianhua, Ms. Han Zhunhua, Mr. Dong Bingsheng, Ms. Sun Jianxia, Mr. Liang Qidong, Ms. Liu Zhaomei, Ms. Hang Chunai, Ms. Ren Yuyie and Ms. Jiao Li. Other cases are under further investigation.
