Deep Thoughts Follow a Shocking Dream

One morning when it was close to 6:00 AM -- the time that all practitioners over the world were about to send forth righteous thoughts together, I had a minor disagreement with my mother, who is also a practitioner. I was unable to accept her opinion. Then because of my anger I would not send righteous thoughts, but my mother persuaded me to join her and my father.

Then I went back to sleep. It was just when I closed my eyes that I saw many people standing at the side of a wide road and all of them were painfully crying. Then I saw many people going down on their knees and kowtowing. The entire scene looked very miserable. My heart was shocked. I immediately wondered if some sentient beings inside my body would suffer disasters. Then I went off to dreamland. In my dream someone gave me a note and also passed a thought into my mind, "This is the number of dead." I took a look at the note. There was a number on the paper but I was unable to read it clearly. It seemed that the number was 17 or 18 digits long. After I woke up, I realized that it was because I had been so angry that so many sentient beings in my cosmos had been eliminated.

I was shocked and regretted my actions. Teacher Li indicates in Touring North America to Teach the Fa that

"Think about it, why did beings from distant cosmic bodies come here? Because Fa-rectification was going to take place in the cosmos, and they are representatives of the extremely massive groups of beings in distant cosmic bodies and colossal firmaments; they came here to establish a karmic relationship with Master so as to ensure that in Fa-rectification they wouldn't be left out amidst the reconstruction of the entire cosmos; their goal was to allow the sentient beings there to be saved. Massive, countless groups of beings are over there."

Teacher also points out,

"What I just talked about is who has come to listen to the Fa. If people like this have come to listen to the Fa, then think about it, doesn't every Dafa disciple represent a different gigantic cosmic body? If that's the case, doesn't whether a Dafa disciple cultivates well or poorly determine whether those gigantic cosmic bodies' beings get saved or not? I can tell you, this is definitely the case."

[...]

"The reason is, that gigantic cosmic body is below you, it's almost like your body, because that's how gigantic you are. There are countless sentient beings and countless cosmic firmaments inside there. Your cultivation determines whether those gigantic groups of beings are good or bad, and whether they can be kept or not!" (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)

Teacher's words triggered a very deep thought. I began to practice Falun Dafa in April 1999. I did not do well in many aspects of my cultivation. I had a bad temper, desires for fame and wealth, and various severe attachments. Whenever I lost my temper in my daily life or did not pass a test in my cultivation, it is possible that many sentient beings in corresponding cosmoses would be eliminated. Teacher has pointed out in Touring North America to Teach the Fa,

"If you don't cultivate well, many beings will be weeded out, and when you reach Consummation, when you return to your place, you'll find that an extremely large number of beings who at one time put infinite hope in you have been weeded out. Then in this cosmic colossal firmament, it's very possible that the cosmic bodies you represent will be in a broken and incomplete state, and countless sentient beings will have been weeded out."

How serious and terrible it is! Assuming that one tenth of sentient beings inside a practitioner's cosmos would be weeded out because he did not do well in his cultivation practice, it means that billions upon billions of lives would be eliminated. When we go back to our cosmos in the future, how pained and deeply repentant we would feel! So we must be responsible to all our sentient beings in our cosmos.

On another early morning close to 6:00 AM, similar family friction occurred. But this time I did not lose my temper at all. I thought I should do as the requirement of the universal principle "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance". When I was sleeping after I finished sending righteous thoughts, I dreamed that a few dirty things dropped from my body. When I awoke, I realized that this time because I passed the test and improved my xinxing, some evil lives that had oftentimes controlled and manipulated me had been eliminated from my dimension. From another point of view, I might have saved many sentient beings in my cosmos. Teacher has said that

"Today I can tell you this: your cultivation is absolutely not a personal, simple matter of reaching Consummation--your cultivation is saving the countless sentient beings in the cosmic body that corresponds to you and who've put infinite hope in you. The cultivation of you all is saving the sentient beings in every single gigantic cosmic colossal firmament."

Therefore as a Dafa disciple, I should do everything well in my cultivation path, being responsible for myself as well as sentient beings in my cosmos.

Teacher also points out in "Buddha-Nature and Demon-Nature" (Essentials for Further Advancement) that

"The same applies to human beings, who possess Buddha-nature and demon-nature at the same time. What one does without moral obligations and constraints is of demon-nature. Cultivating Buddhahood is to eliminate your demon-nature and strengthen and increase your Buddha-nature."

I realized that a human being's temperament is a reflection of a man's attachments, a vent for man's selfish sentiments and grievances. All of those are actually rooted in man's demon-nature that a practitioner must let go of. From now on, I should try my best to do everything well in my cultivation path, enriching my Buddha-nature and eliminating my demon-nature, fulfuling my magnificent pledge with righteous thoughts and concrete actions.
