Supplement to the Cases of Persecution at Southwest China Normal University, Chongqing Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Chen Fu, 33, is from Jiangjin District of
Chongqing City. He has a Bachelor's Degree in geography and a Master's degree in
international trade. He is also a lecturer at the Southwest China Normal
University. Chen Fu is a Falun Gong practitioner. When CCTV (China Central TV) began its
large-scale attack and slander of Falun Dafa on the afternoon of July 22, 1999,
Chen immediately responded within his legal rights by going to Beijing to
appeal. When the semester was about to begin in late August, the Southwest China
Normal University security department abducted him and sent him to the
university training center for brainwashing. The university allowed him to
return to his own room after the long holiday in October 1999, but he was given
no work assignment. Instead, every day they demanded that he go to the
information room during working hours to read books. In the beginning of October
1999, Chen Fu once again went to Beijing to appeal resulting in an illegal
sentence of 2 years at the Xishanping forced labor camp in Chongqing city. When
he finished the term, he was again sent to a brainwashing center in Jinkou. (Jingkou
is the name of a small place in the Shapingba section of Chongqing city, one of
the stations in Shapingba section is called Jingkou). He has been persecuted may
times for his belief in Falun Dafa, which has only made him become firmer and
firmer in his belief. He has never given in to any unlawful persecution in the
forced labor camps and brainwashing centers. Finally, in June 2003, with
righteous thoughts and a strong belief in Dafa, Chen Fu stepped out of the
Jingkou brainwashing class with dignity. He is now living at home. The
University only gives him minimum living expenses and has allowed him to work.
The authorities still have not given up persecuting Chen Fu and require his
father to watch him. If Chen Fu goes to any other place, even if he just visits
his former university, his father always accompanies him. Mr. Wang Zhenyong, a 30-year-old doctor of psychology, is the adjunct
professor of the Southwest China Normal University. In late August 1999, he was
abducted by the Southwest China Normal University security department and sent
to the training center of the university to be brainwashed. In the beginning of
September 1999, Wang Zhenyong was dismissed by the university. In October, he
went to Shenzhen city in Guangdong province to look for a job. In Shenzhen, he
emailed some materials from a Dafa website to another practitioner and was found
out. In the Spring of 2001, Wang Zhenyong was illegally sentenced to the Beibei
detention center by the sub-branch of the public security bureau in Beibei
Section, Chongqing city. Mr. Han Yiming, 46 years old, was born in Chongqing province. He was a
lecturer of the Southwest China Normal University Fine Arts department, and he
has a strong belief in Dafa. Between July and October of 1999, he had gone to
Beijing numerous times to appeal peacefully on behalf of Falun Dafa, and he was
illegally sentenced to 2 years forced labor in the Xishanping forced labor camp
in Chongqing. After his term at the forced labor camp was finished, he was
illegally abducted and sent to the Jingkou brainwashing class in Shapingba of
Chongqing city for one and a half years. After he returned to the university, he
was only issued minimum living expenses and was not assigned any work. Under his
requests, the university only assigned odd jobs to him. Han Yiming was once the
director of the Southwest China Normal University oil painting section, a
recognized academic lecturer, and a professional in fine arts whose work has
received acknowledgement during the National Fine Arts Exhibition. It was only
because of his firm belief in Dafa that he is being persecuted. Mr. Tang Rongku, 52, was born in Yibin city of Sichuan province. He was a
lecturer of the Southwest China Normal University Fine Arts department, and he
firmly believes in Dafa. On December 28, 2000, he was illegally abducted during
one of his lectures and sent to the Beibei detention center by the Beibei
section security bureau subdivision. They also ransacked his house. After a long
period of illegal detention, he was secretly sentenced to three years in prison.
They now are threatening to put him into brainwashing sessions to force him to
renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. Ms. You Chengyu is about sixty-five years old. She is a Southwest China
Normal University retiree. She firmly believes in Dafa and during the end of
December of 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal and was illegally sentenced to
three and a half years in prison. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. Mr. Tang Weicheng is about fifty-two years old. He was a financial officer of
the Southwest China Normal University. Because of his strong belief in Dafa, he
was illegally arrested at the end of July 2003. His current whereabouts are
unknown. In May 2003, because of his strong belief in Dafa, a Southwest China Normal
University graduate student was arrested while exposing the persecution of Falun
