Switzerland: Practitioners Clarify the Facts during the World Information Summit

(Clearwisdom.net) During the World Information Summit, an ICT Development Forum was held in Geneva from December the 9th to December the 13th. The objective of the Forum was to "promote interpersonal communication to improve the quality of life. Delegates from 265 organisations in more than 80 different countries attended the Forum. They were dispatched by governmental offices, civil associations, private enterprises, sponsored units and inter-governmental organisations. The Swiss Falun Dafa Association also had an opportunity to set up a Falun Gong information stand during the Forum.

The Forum was jointly organised by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Office under the auspices of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Federal Government and a multi-national coalition, which aims to coordinate the technological potential of information and communication in promoting peace in society. At the end of the forum, the organiser estimated that around 35,000 to 40,000 people attended the meeting, including the UN Secretary General Mr. Kofi Annan, national leaders, government officials, business owners and members of various civil associations.

Via the Falun Gong information stand, the Swiss Falun Dafa Association clarified the facts about the persecution and exposed Jiang's manipulation and exploitation of the media to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China and frame them overseas. Many visitors were not aware of the deceitful propaganda of Jiang's regime. They were shocked to learn the facts. One of the focuses of the truth clarification was to expose the so-called "Self-Immolation Incident on Tiananmen Square in January 2001. The true story has been widely reported by the media. Recently, NTDTV, an independent Mandarin-language TV station, provided film coverage of the incident and won a Certificate of Honourable Mention at the 51st Columbus International Film & Video Festival. Meanwhile, Jiang's bold attempt to prevent information on the large-scale persecution against Falun Gong from spreading to the international society by blockading the Internet, and his conspiracy to deprive the Chinese people of the facts about Falun Gong were fully exposed. Many visitors were interested in the lawsuits filed against Jiang and his accomplices who are responsible for instigating the persecution against Falun Gong. Among them were numerous reporters from the world's media. They realised that the Chinese government cannot continue to cover up the brutal persecution against Falun Gong. An Indian TV station, as well as the ICT Development Forum, interviewed practitioners from the Falun Gong information stand.
