Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp Admits that Ms. Wang Yongfang is Severely Ill, but Refuses to Allow Her Family to Visit Her

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Yongfang, from Anda City, Heilongjiang Province, was illegally sent to labor reform in May 2002 because of her practice of Falun Gong. She still persists in her belief while being held in the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar.

On December 8, Ms. Wang's mother (almost 80 years old) and her two sisters went to the labor camp to visit her, but they were not allowed to see Ms. Wang and could only leave her money. The labor camp said that Ms. Wang was not cooperating with the medical treatment she was supposed to be receiving, and if anything happened to her, the labor camp would not be responsible. According to our source, by April of this year, Ms. Wang was extremely weak and she lost consciousness several times in the labor camp, with saliva foaming from her mouth. After having lost consciousness, she did not have the strength to leave her bed for a long time afterwards. But the labor camp, disregarding her urgent physical condition, would not release her.

In October 1999, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally arrested. She was imprisoned in the Anda Detention Center for one year. On May 13, 2002, Ms. Wang and her second oldest sister, Wang Yanrong, were visiting their mother in Anda when the police broke into their house. The Chief of the Political Security Section of the Anda Public Security Bureau, Liu Yingshan, and officer Zhao (first name unknown) held up some Falun Gong posters and insisted that Ms. Wang and her sister had posted them. The police also accused Ms. Wang of hiding her sister, also a Falun Gong practitioner, who was forced to leave her job and home in order to avoid harassment and arrest. The police threatened to arrest Ms. Wang. Ms. Wang firmly resisted but was still forcefully taken away.

With no legal procedures and no notice sent to any family member, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp to be illegally "educated" through forced labor for three years. Her sister was sent to Anda Detention Center that same day, and was then sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center three days later. Her current situation is unknown.
