Stories of Truth Clarification Activities Outside the Chicago Chinese Consulate (Part 1)

(Clearwisdom.net) Several elderly practitioners have been demonstrating for one and a half years outside of the Chinese Consulate in Chicago, day in and day out, rain or shine, to protest Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. They hold a "Falun Dafa is Good" banner, display a poster showing the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, explain to passersby that Jiang is being sued globally for genocide, distribute truth-clarifying flyers and answer questions for those who want to hear more. There are many touching stories to tell.

Story 1: The Conversation Between Ms. Sun and a Worker from the Consulate

Ms. Sun is 67 years old and started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. She became very healthy after 6 months of practice. After the persecution started, her cousin, Yang Jingfang, was imprisoned in Hefei City, Anhui Province, because she practiced Falun Gong. The police told her that if she did not give up practicing she would be jailed indefinitely. To help rescue her cousin and to tell about the crimes committed by Jiang's followers, Ms. Sun protests daily outside the consulate.

One day, while she was sitting in front of the consulate, an employee from the consulate came to talk to her, "Leave and sit somewhere else, not here."

Ms. Sun told him, "This is the US, not Tiananman Square. I can sit here and tell the truth about Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong to all those willing to listen. My cousin is still in jail and the police told her that she would not be released unless she stops practicing. Do you think this is rational? If your own innocent sister were jailed, wouldn't you be here to protest?"

He asked, "Who pays you to sit here and do such hard work?"

Ms. Sun answered, "I receive no pay for coming here and my bus fare comes out of my own pocket. Despite rain or wind, I volunteer to be here."

He continued to ask questions, "Who gives you these materials?" She responded that, "These materials are hard to come by. Practitioners, who paid for the materials themselves, made them. There are many people like me who have relatives that are being persecuted. There are one hundred million people practicing Falun Gong in China; however, due to Jiang's persecution, several hundred million people have been affected negatively. Who wouldn't want to rescue their own relatives? Since we are old and don't need to work, we come and distribute these flyers to tell the world of Jiang's crimes. We are not like Jiang, who uses national funds to suppress his own people. I am here to righteously tell the truth. I believe that compassion has power."

The man smiled, "You really know how to talk. You can just sit here for the rest of your life."

"As it is virtuous, I will indeed sit here for the rest of my life."

The other day, a man came out of the consulate to inform her they would help her find a job to make some money. She told him, "I'll just sit here every day to protest against Jiang's persecution. It is more important to save practitioners from being jailed."
