Tragedies in Erdao Township, Jilin City

(Clearwisdom.net)

Daughter and Son-in-law Arrested, Sick Father Left Alone

One evening in November 2000, the Erdao Township Government of Fengman District, Jilin City, Jilin Province sent people to Falun Dafa practitioners' homes to abduct us. They said we could either go to the Education Department Office or pay 1000 yuan [two months salary for an urban worker in China]. In the end, 18 of us were illegally detained in the Education Department Office. We had to sleep on the office floor in below-zero temperatures. The father-in-law of practitioner Mr. Jin Zhonggen was critically ill and was receiving medication intravenously at home. The people from the Township government would not let him or his wife go to take care of this sick old man, but forcibly arrested and detained this couple at the Education Department. The old man was left home alone, and his neighbor found him lying on the floor, where he had fallen two different times. On the fourth day, early in the morning, the neighbor found him dead. She went to the Education Department immediately, but the guards still would not let the couple go home. They finally were allowed to go home after 8:30 AM when the officials came to work. Under such intense pressure, Jin Zhonggen gave up cultivation against his will.

The Painful Force-Feeding I Endured

On January 1st, 2001, we went to Beijing to validate the Fa and were beaten by police on Tiananmen Square until our ears bled. Later we were detained in the Xuanwu District Detention Center. We requested to be released unconditionally and went on a hunger strike without food or water. Hence we were force-fed. Four or five men pressed me down to the floor, stuffed a tube through one of my nostrils, and force-fed me with concentrated salt solution and chili pepper water. It was very painful when the tube went through the throat, as it cut into the flesh and caused much bleeding. Some jail doctors were very cruel. They intentionally inserted the tube with extra force, making our noses bleed. Sometimes they would not take the tube out until the next day. It was extremely painful. We could not wipe off our noses because our hands were tied behind our backs. A big puddle of mucus came out along the tube, and our throats and noses felt burning pain, as though infected, when the tube was finally taken out the next day. Police threatened us on the 15th day that they would again force-feed us, but I was very calm, firmly resisting this mistreatment and was then released.
