Ireland: As Jiang Zemin's Dark Deeds are Exposed, the People of Cork Offer Support for Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Last weekend, an anti-torture exhibition was held in Cork, the second largest city in Ireland. A group of Falun Gong practitioners from across Ireland gathered together to let people know about the human rights abuses currently taking place against Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China and to introduce Falun Gong. They re-enacted several of the brutal methods of torture that are inflicted on people who practice Falun Gong in China.

When the first group of practitioners arrived in Cork, musicians were using the main square in the city centre. However, after a sudden bout of heavy rain, they put on their coats and left. As we arrived with the materials, we walked through the rain to set up the anti-torture exhibits; our hearts remained calm and unmoved by the bad weather, with only the wish to have more people learn the facts of the persecution. Shortly afterwards the weather cleared up and crowds of people flocked around us for the rest of the afternoon.

We handed out in excess of 2,000 leaflets and thoroughly explained the nature of Falun Gong cultivation as well as the persecution to hundreds of passers by. We were surprised at the number of people who were interested in learning Falun Gong. As there are no regular classes in Cork at the moment, many people said they would go and read Zhuan Falun [the main text of Falun Gong] themselves. Volunteers took contact information to come back and teach them the exercises at a later date.

Witnessing the brutality of the torture methods used in the labor camps was a moving experience for many passersby. Upon learning of nature of Falun Gong and that practitioners are being persecuted for their belief in Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance, the most frequent response from the kind-hearted Cork residents was, "How can I help?"

One African man commented that he couldn't believe these things could be happening in the world today and promised to write to the Chinese Ambassador expressing his disgust at the treatment of Falun Gong practitioners. The actions of Jiang Zemin and his wicked regime continue to shock and anger people all over the world, and the global voice calling for the persecutors to be brought to justice continues to grow stronger.
