By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

Through someone's introduction, a young lady met a young gentleman who works in the educational system. After having known each other for some time, the lady had concluded that the gentleman was mild and kind. Friends of the lady also liked the gentleman. One day, the gentleman told the lady that he was a Falun Dafa practitioner and clarified the truth to her. While listening to him, the lady was shaking due to fear.

Actually, the young lady was 30 years old, worked at a tour company, and knew a lot. She was also capable of dealing with difficult situations, as she worked as a senior manager in the tour company. She did not totally believe the reports of other issues on CCTV (China Central Television, a state controlled media), and she should have been able to tell right from wrong, and have some immunity to the lies, yet it turned out just the opposite. When the practitioner gentleman asked her whether she had heard of Falun Gong before 1999, she said no. The practitioner further asked, "Do you know any Falun Gong practitioners?" She replied, "You are the only one." The practitioner then said, "So up to now, I am the only Falun Gong practitioner you have met. You and your friends all think that I am a good person. This indicates that Falun Gong has never had any bad effects on your life. In fact, I don't think it will affect you in the future either." The lady was quiet for a while. When the practitioner asked her if she had any doubts, she said no, but that she did not want to know more about Falun Gong. Finally, the relationship broke up.

The lady had never read Falun Gong books, and she had not previously met any practitioners. Because of fear, she broke up with the practitioner. Maybe she will find someone else and lead a happy life, but this time, she lost the chance to get to know a good, trust-worthy friend, and the chance to know the truth about Falun Gong. Where did her fear and hatred toward Falun Gong come from? Obviously, it came from the lies of Jiang's regime.

Since July 1999, when the persecution began, the deceitful propaganda of Jiang's regime blotted out the sky, and many Chinese people lost their ability to judge between good and evil. Their minds have been filled with ignorance, fear, and hatred toward Falun Gong and the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." The above is only one of thousands of similar stories. Because of the ignorance, fear, and hatred toward Falun Gong and the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," the lady broke up with the practitioner. Due to ignorance, fear, and hatred toward "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," a father stopped trusting his kind daughter, children have given up respect for their parents, and a manager stopped trusting a key worker who had been doing well for many years with heavy responsibilities, etc. Perhaps the direct loss to society is small, but if the whole society gives up the moral foundation that our very existence relies upon, simply due to ignorance, fear, and hatred toward "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," then what will our future be like?

Looking at the issue from this angle, the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime is destroying the society's morality and destroying its bright future. More importantly, the persecution put numerous people who don't practice Falun Gong in fear that they might be implicated by befriending a Falun Gong practitioner. This fear is very familiar to those who experienced the Cultural Revolution. Suffering "guilt by association" means that one could be the next to be persecuted.
