I Miss My Mother a Lot, But I Am So Proud of Her

(Clearwisdom.net) This year I turned 14 and finished middle school. When I was seven years old, my mother was fortunate to start practicing Falun Dafa and all her previous illnesses were cured without any medical treatment. My father also started practicing Falun Dafa two months after my mother. Before that, he never had a proper job and he always quarreled with my mother and greatly disturbed our family life. Even though I was young at the time, I already knew the pain and harm that the fights between my parents caused. After my father began Falun Dafa practice, he gave up all his bad habits and his temperament became more moderate. From that time on, our family lived in harmony and happiness.

After the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20, 1999, however, lawless personnel keep coming to disturb our family. My mother went to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to the local government's "610 Office." However, they put her in jail for 22 days. My father also had to pay 1,350 yuan (1) to gain my mother's freedom. Afterwards, my father was kidnapped by the village government, detained for three days, and fined 200 yuan. In May 2000, my mother went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Dafa and she was put in jail. Then, the night before June 1, 2000, some lawless personnel deceived my father, saying he could go see my mother. They tricked him into going to the Xiaodiaoe brainwashing class.

After that, only my older brother and I were left at home by ourselves. Since my brother had to work, I was left alone at home. Knowing this, my 70-year-old grandmother locked up her house and came to live with me. My grandmother and I depended on each other, and our life was financially difficult. In autumn we raked leaves for extra money. We also carried our drinking water in from outside. My grandmother was very sick and her arm was also in pain. Because I was so young and I could only carry half a bucket of water at a time, we had to even wait for the passers-by to turn on the water for us.

Sometimes I missed my mother a lot and wanted to cry, though I worried that if my grandmother saw me like this she would feel grief. Therefore I would run outside of the village to cry in the fields. Sometimes when I think of my father and mother, I take our family photo and hug it.

At school, my classmates always mock and make fun of me. Someone asked, "Do you miss your mother?" I was in tears at that time and could not say a thing. It is hard to use words to express my thoughts. There were also people who said, "Your mother is only concerned about herself, and she does not care about you." Nevertheless I knew my mother's choice was right. She disregarded her own safety to let other people know that Falun Dafa and "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance" are good; she stood up for it. I am proud of my mother's actions and I am moved that Falun Dafa practitioners gave up their lives to save others.
