Persecution at Jianshanzi Prison, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) According to an insider, the Training Brigade at Jianshanzi Prison of Heilongjiang Province has abused Falun Dafa practitioners, using all of the instruments of torture at their disposal. No visitors or relatives are allowed to see the practitioners. The guards try to force the practitioners to give up Falun Gong, and if they don't, they are not allowed to leave the prison. Torture techniques are used repeatedly, and practitioners have been subjected to many rounds of torture.

Practitioners held at the Harbin Prison of Heilongjiang Province filed a lawsuit against the prison guards. As a result, all of the practitioners were moved to jails in other cities such as Daqing, Mudanjiang, and Tailai of Heilongjiang Province. Many of them were moved to Mudanjiang Jianshanzi Prison. Due to the information blockade, many details of the persecution are unknown.

Some of the details of the persecution against practitioners at Mudanjiang Prison are as follows:

Mr. Yu Junxiu from Zhejiang Province died as a result of persecution in July 2003. The persecution lasted for three months, which included being shackled to the ground. When Mr. Yu requested to see other practitioners, his request was refused. News about him was also blocked from getting out.

Mr. Li Ruqing was a 66-year-old retiree of the Mechanical and Electrical Factory of the Shangyashan City Mine Affairs Bureau. Between October 7 and 8, 2002, he was arrested for distributing literature about Falun Gong and sentenced to seven years in Mudanjiang Prison. He was tortured to death within two months on October 9, 2003. A male officer from the Prison Affairs Department admitted that Mr. Li Ruqing died a month earlier and stated that Mr. Li Ruqing had refused to give up his beliefs.

Mr. Yu Jiqing, 30 years old, died as a result of the persecution in the No.4 Zone of Mudanjiang Prison. One male guard from the prison admitted that they processed Mr. Yu Jixing's death case, but he didn't provide the exact date when he died, saying that he died a long time ago and the case had been processed.

Mr. Xie Yunhuan was a 29-year-old student studying in Japan. He went to Japan in February 1999 and came back to China to appeal for Falun Gong in February 2000. In March 2001, the National Security Bureau in Beijing kidnapped him. On August 15, 2002, the Jiguan District Court of Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, in the name of "using a [slanderous term omitted] organization to undermine the implementation of the law," sentenced him to 10 years in prison. He is now being held at the Mudanjiang City No. 1 Prison in Heilongjiang Province. At the prison, Mr. Xie was forced to work for over 16 hours a day and subjected to countless brainwashing sessions and forms of physical abuse. According to his family, he is now very skinny. His family has not been allowed to visit him because they said a few words in support of Falun Dafa when they visited him.

Mr. Zhang Dehui was beaten until one of his bones was broken and his face and eyes were bruised, simply because the Brigade Head Wei of the No.5 Zone of the prison found a Falun Dafa book in his belongings. The authorities wanted to use this as an excuse to frame another practitioner, Mr. Sun, whom they said had given the book to Zhang. Zhang refused to cooperate with them and was subjected to a brutal beating.

Mr. Wu Yueqing from Shangyashan City was arrested in December of 2001 at a Falun Dafa material production site. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in January 2002. He is now held at the No.23 Subzone of the No.11 Zone. Having been jailed for over two years, he has incurred both mental and physical damage. He has a serious case of tuberculosis and heart problems, and his life is in danger. His wife died last year, leaving their 10-year-old son with his maternal grandmother, who herself has many illnesses.

Mr. Dai Jun, 28 years old and from Mishan City, was sentenced by the Jixi City Mid-Level Court to prison for 6 years for distributing materials about Falun Gong. He is now detained at Mudanjiang Prison. Dai Jun was arrested on April 25, 2002. Staff from the Political and Security Department of Jixi City Public Bureau beat him. They even called in the Criminal Squad of the Xiguan District Subdivision and subjected Mr. Dai Jun to torture around the clock. He was forced to sit on the Tiger Bench and wear a heavy and tight hat, force fed with mustard oil, exposed to harsh wind, punched and kicked, had his feet pricked with thorns, and he was shackled with the hands behind his back. To prevent him from escaping, they tied sticks to his feet and handcuffed him, and then kicked him repeatedly until he lost feeling in his legs and had difficulty walking. He needed support just to walk into the courtroom. After three days and nights of torture around the clock, he was sent to a detention center. Four other practitioners were also abused to various degrees. One of them was a university lecturer. Dai Jun still suffers from dizziness, vomiting, numbness, weak limbs, and weakened eyesight.

According to insiders, many practitioners were subjected to serious persecution in the prison. Over 20 of them have gotten tuberculosis as a result.

Mr. Pan Xingfu's legs have swollen up and he has become deaf.

Cui Hongwei suffered a broken spine and is paralyzed.

Wang Changbai from Qitaihe City suffered a mental breakdown as a result of the abuse.

Shen Jinxiang was beaten brutally by the brigade head and the staff commissioner of the No.4 Zone.

The No. 5 Zone's persecution has escalated. Mr. Zhang Zhaoguang, Liu Jun, Xie Zhimei, and Zhang Qiong have been watched around the clock for 4-5 days.

Not long ago, the province's Minister of Justice, Zhang Fusen, came to Mudanjiang Prison to enforce further persecution against the practitioners, causing several practitioners to be beaten.

Several practitioners are sentenced there to over 10 years.
