The Far-Reaching Effects of Truth Clarification - An Inmate Asks Me to Teach His Child How to Behave

(Clearwisdom.net) Just before I was released from the detention center, many inmates were reluctant to see me go. Convinced by the facts I clarified to him, the head inmate kindly asked me to take care of myself and requested that I teach his child how to behave and study once I was out.

Because of my practice of Falun Dafa, the authorities had sent me to the detention center. They interrogated me, but I refused to cooperate and I didn't answer any questions they asked. "I'm innocent. I must not be imprisoned," I thought to myself. The police officer in charge was outraged. He insisted that I reply when he asked me questions. I then told him calmly, "Falun Dafa is Good! Let me go."

During my detention there, I kept resisting tortures. As a result, the police officers instructed the inmates to brutally beat me in a group. My whole body was injured and swollen. Then, the two-dozen people in the room were all moved. Later they watched the door while I was doing the Falun Gong exercises. Some of them asked me to share with them Master Li's new articles.

With tears in their eyes, several inmates were very emotional and told me that if they had known Falun Gong and its teachings were about how to be a good person, they wouldn't have committed their crimes or ended up so badly. Each person involved in beating me up under police instructions came to apologize and asked me to forgive him for his wrongdoing under police pressure.

With tears in his eyes, Mr. Zhong Zhigao from Guangxi Province told me that he would not have beaten me at all if he had known that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. Later he gave me a short-sleeve shirt as a present. He insisted that I accept it as a gift and stated that if I didn't accept it, it would imply that I didn't forgive him and he would be sorry for the rest of his life. I kept his shirt while giving back to him another shirt of mine.

An inmate who was released the next day came to talk to me the night before. He told me that beatings in the prison were so routine that nobody would apologize for them. "In fact, nobody here is supposed to acknowledge one's wrongdoings," he said. Nevertheless, he expressed his regret to me for his wrongdoing. "Only this way, can I be relieved in my heart," he said.

An inmate whose prison term had been reduced from the death penalty to a deferred death penalty told me, emotionally, "You treat me so well. I shouldn't have beaten you." Leaving the better sleeping spot to me, he lay down next to me to listen to my stories.

The whole time I was detained, I promoted Dafa to the inmates. Everyone listened seriously. They all expressed their respect and admiration for Dafa. One of them later wrote to me. He said that the prison authorities didn't give him a penny when they released him. Penniless, he had to walk for twenty miles to the nearest friend to get some money and then took the bus home. "Had I not heard the teachings of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance from you, I wouldn't have been able to refrain myself from committing bad deeds in such a terrible situation. Instead, I walked twenty miles merely with my willpower and my belief."
