Introducing Falun Gong and Exposing the Persecution at a High School in Denmark

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 26, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to talk about Falun Gong and the current persecution against practitioners in China at a high school in Denmark. The talk was scheduled to last about 90 minutes and was held for around 150 pupils. Before the talk, only a few of the teachers knew about the persecution and most didn't know anything about Falun Gong at all, so both the teachers and pupils were excited to learn about the practice and sad to hear about the suppression.

The practitioners thoroughly explained about Falun Gong and the evilness of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The pupils listened very attentively and were visibly moved by what they were learning. When practitioners exposed the torture in China with pictures and concrete examples, both teachers and pupils were surprised by the brutality of this persecution and couldn't help but express their shock. One practitioner, whose mother had been illegally detained in China, talked to the pupils about how Falun Gong had brought harmony to his family and about how they were now being persecuted for their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Another practitioner talked about how she had been denied a Visa to visit her terminally ill father in China because she practices Falun Gong. Later her father died.

Throughout the talk all the pupils were quiet and attentive, which surprised the teachers. At the end they had many questions and found it deplorable that Jiang and his regime could act so outrageously. The teachers also asked questions and were surprised that they had not heard about the persecution before. Finally, we had some time to teach them the first of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. It was a beautiful sight to see all the pupils and teachers performing the first exercise together. After the talk, the practitioners were invited for lunch in the staff room. The teachers were very grateful for what they had learned.

A few days later, one of the teachers told us that our visit had captivated everyone. One pupil had grabbed her arm right after the lecture and said to her, "We can't just stop here! We have to do something!" One of her classes has insisted on doing a project on the persecution of Falun Gong. Another teacher was inspired by hearing about Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and has decided to make Truthfulness the main theme for his class for a whole week and incorporate it into all the subjects.
