Belated News: Three Falun Dafa Practitioners from Chongqing Die During the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Local police in Chongqing City tortured Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Nie Jiheng, Ms. Yang Xiaoping and Ms. Zeng Chaobi, all three of whom have since died as a result of the persecution.

Mr. Nie Jiheng, in his sixties, was a senior engineer at the Chongqing Chemical Plant who began practicing Falun Dafa in 1995. Because he firmly held to his belief, even after the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the Jiaodao Substation Police arrested him on May 24, 2003 in the Banan District of Chongqing. He was detained at the Banan Detention Center and died in Huaxi Hospital soon afterwards. The police fabricated a lie, saying that he had committed suicide by jumping from the building. Before dying, Mr. Nie wrote a note to his wife on a scrap of paper, "I hope the truth will be exposed on the Internet that my death was a direct result of the persecution." A fellow practitioner who was over eighty years old had carried the note from the detention center, but unfortunately, the note has since been lost.

Sixty-five-year-old Ms. Yang Xiaoping lived at 132 Liyuchi, in the Jiangbei District of Chongqing. She began practicing Falun Dafa in May 1994, and had visited each of the Chongqing counties, districts, mountain areas and surrounding countryside to spread Falun Dafa and distribute truth-clarification materials. After July 20, 1999, the Guanyinqiao Substation Police (Jiangbei District jurisdiction) often harassed her at her home, tried to force her to abandon Falun Dafa and forbade her from doing the exercises. Ms. Yang was severely tortured, both mentally and physically, all because she firmly held to her belief. Ms. Yang Xiaoping died on October 10, 1999.

Forty-year-old Ms. Zeng Chaobi lived in the dormitory of Chongqing No.4 Construction Company, near the intersection of Jiangbei District Third Street and Steel Factory No.2 Street in Chongqing. She began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, and continued to practice after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. Despite the persecution, Ms. Zeng remained steadfast and actively clarified the truth to people. In November 2000, the police ransacked her house and confiscated some Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials, some of which she had created herself, and then detained her. The police continued to harass her, even after she had been released from the detention center. Ms. Zeng Chaobi died in early 2001.
