(Clearwisdom.net) Distributing truth-clarification fliers is one of the main forms that practitioners use to clarify the truth. I would like to share my experience and the results of distributing Dafa informational materials in different states of mind.

1. Strong righteous thoughts and a clear mind

a. Once, I rode a bicycle to a mountain area to distribute Dafa fliers. It was about a thirty mile trip. On my way there and back, my mind was extremely pure and clear, while I rehearsed Teacher's newly published poem in my mind.

"With righteous thoughts and righteous actions

He is diligent without letting up

Eliminating demons that damage the Fa

He is good to all beings" ( A Righteous God )

A fellow practitioner went with me. We left at 3 P.M. and came back at 5 A.M. the next day. I continually recited the poem in my heart during our travels. My body was very light. When we arrived at a factory, the other practitioner approached the main gate from the side, while I stood across the street, facing the gate. I was able to see that there was a very large dog guarding the gate. I could see that the dog was aware of the practitioner as he walked toward the gate. However, I could not shout to warn him, since people living nearby would hear me. I was worried, but suddenly realized that I should send forth righteous thoughts. I did it and commanded the dog to remain silent. At that moment, the practitioner dropped the Dafa fliers inside the gate. The dog retrieved them in its mouth, but it did not bark at all.

b. Four of us went to a large village. We split into two groups. One practitioner and I would cover the residents living down in the village, while the others would cover the outlying areas. There was a main street with many short dead-end lanes. To save some time, I asked the other practitioner to cover the main street, while I went into the lanes. Previous to practicing Dafa, I was very afraid of the dark. However, I shed my fear of being alone at night, since practicing Dafa.

When I entered a relatively long lane, I felt someone following me. I stopped distributing fliers and simply went ahead, holding my right palm erect to send forth righteous thoughts and to eliminate the evil factors controlling him. I soon came to the end of the lane and turned to go back. Then the person following me became afraid. He stood in front of a house and turned on his flashlight and shouted, "Who is it? What are you doing?" With the help of his light, I put Dafa fliers inside the doors of the houses that I had just missed. Meanwhile, I said to him, "Don't point the flashlight at me. My eyes are dazed. Please point it at the gates." The person listened and used his flashlight to show me the way. When I came to him, I told him, "I'm distributing fliers. You are very fortunate. Here is my last CD. Take it, go home and take a look." He took the CD and mumbled, "Some flier, huh?" Then he went back to his house without saying another word.

I continued through the other lanes. A strange feeling overcame me, I was so tall that I could reach up to the sky and the village suddenly seemed very small.

c. I know a practitioner whose method of distributing Dafa materials is very unique. He never tries to avoid people. Instead, when bumping into a person, he says, "Here is a flier. Take a look." If the person asks what kind of flier it is, he answers, "Falun Gong's truth-clarification fliers."

Sometimes, people ask him first, "What are you doing?"

He would say, "Distributing fliers."

"What kind of fliers?"

"Falun Gong fliers."

"Why don't you distribute them during the day? It's very late now."

"I work and don't have time to do it during the day."

"Are you giving everybody a flier?"

"Yes, I try not to miss anyone."

"OK then, give me one."

He always does it this way and people like his directness. He has participated in many truth-clarification activities.

2. An unclear mind when my Fa-study was not adequate

There were two occasions when I went out to distribute Dafa fliers while not clear minded. I ran into trouble both times.

The first time was during winter. As soon as I entered the village, the dogs started to bark. Many people turned on their lights and came out. Another practitioner was with me. We ended up just leaving a few copies of Dafa materials then left the village and went on to another one. That village wasn't far away, since it was within view. However, it seemed to move further away as we walked over the snow-covered hills. We were exhausted when we finally entered the village. Our legs were so heavy that we couldn't distribute many materials.

The other time was during the summer. It wasn't a smooth journey either. When we delivered the fliers, we either woke up chickens and ducks in the yard or ran into a homeowner who was about to leave. There was so much interference that we decided to stop and return home. On our way back, we heard two people talking. One said, "I don't know why. I just wanted to go outside." The other one said, "Me too. I couldn't sleep, so I came out. This has never happened to me before." We immediately realized that all the interference was caused by evil factors in other dimensions. After we arrived home, I looked within myself and I discovered many attachments. For example, I was very happy when practitioners praised me. My attachments of showing off and pursuit of fame grew and expanded. I enjoyed being admired, but didn't like to be criticized.

After I discovered my attachments, I realized how dangerous it was to go out to distribute materials with so many attachments occupying my mind and without a solid base of righteous thoughts for saving sentient beings. Who knows how many evil factors had been following me during that time, trying to take advantage of me. I came to know that keeping such a mental state was actually very dangerous for myself and others.

From then on, I often remind myself that I am responsible for sentient beings, for fellow practitioners, and for myself. I should always remember what Teacher tells us--that we should always try to rectify ourselves and maintain righteous thoughts, so we can effectively accomplish the three requirements (1) of a Fa-rectification practitioner.

(1) Study the Fa (Law and principles; the teachings of Falun Dafa), send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution to all people.
