(Clearwisdom.net) I was always weak and sick before I started practicing Falun Gong. In addition, I suffered from severe insomnia and often dozed off during the day at work. I was constantly feeling anxious. Fortunately, between 1996 and 1998, everyone in my family started practicing Falun Gong. First, my father-in-law's liver disease, an accumulation of fluid in his abdomen and inflammation of the gallbladder all disappeared after he began to practice Falun Dafa. His weight increased to 143 lb from 88 lb. His waistline decreased from 47 inches, due to the fluid build up, to his normal size of 32 inches. Next, my mother-in-law recovered from coronary disease, hypertension, and arthritis. Then, my husband greatly improved his temper after he started to practice Falun Dafa. Previously, he often did not come home at night, whereas after he started practicing Falun Gong, he abstained from smoking, drinking, and gambling. He also had the habit of coming to work late and leaving early, but he turned into a model worker who is the first at work and does all the clean up. He started coming to work early and going home late. I have also benefited greatly from practicing Dafa and feel very energetic every day.

Jiang's regime began to persecute and suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, depriving us of our cultivation environment and denying us our rights to practice Falun Gong. A fellow practitioner and I went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong on February 1, 2000. Policemen intercepted us while we were walking along the Golden Water Bridge and took us to the police station. Our local authorities came to pick us up. They detained us for a month on the made-up charge of "disturbing social stability." In October, a group of people from the local police station ransacked my home without a warrant. My heart fluttered in my chest because I was so frightened. I stammered and did nothing as they took away Master's picture. I felt that I had disappointed Master and not lived up to my responsibility to Dafa.

I decided to go to Beijing again to validate Dafa in December and went to Tiananmen Square after safely passing through all the checkpoints. I felt very sad when I saw practitioners being arrested and beaten on Tiananmen Square. I took out my banner reading, "Falun Dafa is good" and held it up high as I shouted "Falun Dafa is good" and ran. Two undercover policemen ran up to me and knocked me down with a kick. They grabbed my hair and yanked me up. I, however, did not feel pain at all, nor did I feel afraid.

They took me to the Haidian District Police Station. As soon as I stepped inside the door, they stripped off my clothes, leaving me only with my underpants, and took all my money away. The senior prisoner asked me for my name. When I refused to tell them, they said, "We are not worried that you won't say your name. We will simply strip off all your clothes, toss you outside, and beat you to death. A girl in her twenties was beaten to death this way two months ago."

I began to hold a hunger strike to protest my illegal detention the next day. I was dragged out to be force-fed on the fourth day and became scared. A fellow practitioner encouraged me and said, "Don't be afraid. There is nothing to be scared of. We will explain the truth about Falun Gong to them and tell them not to do evil things." I saw there were six policemen holding a fellow practitioner down on a table. They took a plastic pipe and shoved it into his nose. A young policeman said, "This is a slaughter-house." I was so scared that my legs buckled. As soon as they wrestled me to the table, they began to put the pipe in my nose. I began to recite the poem "Non-existence" from Hongyin,

"To live with no pursuits,
To die with no regrets;
All excessive thoughts extinguished,
Cultivating Buddhahood is not difficult."

My fear disappeared. As a result, whatever was fed into the tube sprayed right back out. The same thing happened the next day when they tried to force-feed me again.

I was pregnant at the time. I started to be afraid, especially because I was concerned about my baby and I did not resist anymore. On the seventh day of force-feeding, the policemen took a heavy wooden board, placed it over my calves and knees, and then pushed down with force while pinching my legs with their fingers. Then, they used a small pair of scissors to injure my hands. I was in so much pain that I could no longer move them at all. I was bruised all over by the time I returned to my cell.

Two days later, the policemen from my local police station took me home. Ignoring the fact that I was pregnant, they detained me again for fifteen days and after that, they illegally postponed my release for another fifteen days. When I finally got home one month later, three others members of my family still remained in detention.
