Los Angeles: Practitioners Win Four Awards in Two Parades (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Los Angeles participated in two Christmas parades on December 11 and December 12, 2004, one in Bell City, the other in South Gate City. Parade spectators received Falun Gong warmly and were enthusiastic about receiving the introductory materials about Falun Gong.

One woman learned how to do the third exercise from Falun Gong practitioners after the parade on the first day. She was very excited and told the practitioners that her back pain was gone within five minutes. She made the best use of the remaining time to learn the other Falun Gong exercises and planned to go to a group exercise site though it was far away from where she lived. Before she left, she took many flyers with her so that she could tell more people about Falun Gong.

The parade on the second day was broadcast live on TV. A judging committee graded each parade entry. When the practitioners passed the reviewing stand, the judges stood up to give Falun Gong a warm round of applause. The TV show host excitedly introduced Falun Gong and its wide spread in the world. Later on, an edited video of the parade was shown on TV again.

Falun Gong practitioners won awards in all four contests that they participated in. Three of them were first place awards. Falun Gong practitioners in Los Angeles have won twenty-two awards in these community events.
