(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Jieyun was killed by prison guards in the Eighth Block, Fifth Ward of Jinzhong Prison, Shanxi Province.

On the morning of July 20, 2004, prison guards in the Eighth Block, Fifth Ward of Jinzhong Prison, Shanxi Province locked three Falun Dafa practitioners into a "Brainwashing Cell" in order to comply with an order issued by the Judiciary Bureau to "force solid practitioners to give up within 100 days." Prison Guard and director of the ward, Han Xiaoliang (male) instructed prisoners Zhang Weizheng (male) and Cao Lianshuai (male) and others to torture the three practitioners and force them to write letters of repentance. However, the three practitioners still had not changed their minds by 6 PM.

At that time, the prison guards and the prisoners stripped Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Jieyun (51, from Lingqiu County, Shanxi Province) and took turns beating him with a police baton, handcuffs, and wooden sticks. Inmate Shu Deqing poured boiling water all over Mr. Liu's body. Mr. Liu died after having being brutally beaten for more than one hour. In order to conceal their crime, the prison guards encouraged the inmates to say that Mr. Liu suddenly died of a heart attack to deceive his family. Without first obtaining consent from Mr. Liu's family, they quickly cremated his body to destroy the evidence.
