Comprehensive Accounts of the Persecution at the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp (Part III) (Clearwisdom.net) Part 1: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/12/19/55717.html Since November 1999, Falun Gong practitioners from
throughout Hebei Province were held at the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp.
In the past five years, Hebei Province's 610 Office has directed the
persecution. Countless practitioners were tortured, disabled and suffered severe
mental trauma at the labor camp. Because of the strict information blockade,
only a few cases have been exposed. Cases of practitioners severely injured and abused until they were disabled
in the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp In the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp, torture with murderous
inclinations has disabled and injured a large number of practitioners. The scars
are still visible on many of them today. Main perpetrators: Below are 11 documented serious cases: 1. Ms Liu Tao seriously injured due to brutal abuse and torment Partial list of persons responsible persons from the ''No.1 Division: Ex-Division Head Li Yong Police officers Yin Hanjiang, Han (nickname "Han One-rope"), Wang
Yanbin and others Current Division Head Zhang Xuemin. Ms. Liu Tao is 27 years old and lives at 50-4-201 in the Tangu Residential
Area in Shijiazhuang City. Officials from the Yudong Police Station in
Shijiazhuang City and the Shijiazhuang City Detention Center detained and
persecuted her because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and attended
Falun Gong group exercises. At the end of 2000 she was sent to the No. 5
Division of the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced
labor. In early April 2001 Ms. Liu was locked up alone in a cell for asking to study
the Falun Gong books and to do the Falun Gong exercises. In solitary confinement
the guards handcuffed her, forced her to stand still, and deprived her of sleep
until the end of the month. She was then transferred to the No. 1 Division. Led
by Yin Hanjiang, guards shocked her entire body, using several high-voltage
electric batons, beat her violently, and used various cruel devices and
techniques on her day and night, non-stop, in an attempt to
"transform" her. To prevent others from hearing her agonizing sounds
they taped her mouth shut. In spite of the tape, her excruciating cries could
still sometimes be heard. They found the most wicked team head in the
division, nicknamed "Han One-Rope," to torture her six times
without stopping using a method called "Tying the Ropes" (1). ''In
the daytime, they hung her on a metal gate for several hours with her toes
barely touching the ground. On May 10, 2001, Ms. Liu was forced to jump from the
4th floor of the building. She sustained nine fractures, four of them
compound. It took the No. 1 Division leaders four hours to get around to sending
her to a hospital, which they did only when she passed out due to massive
hemorrhaging. This was a crucial delay in her treatment. Ms. Liu has remained in
a coma due to the severe bleeding, and the hospital has given her over ten units
of blood. On May 18, without notifying her family members, No.1 Division police
officer Wang Yanbin signed unauthorized permission documents for her to undergo
surgery. Twenty-six days later, Ms. Liu Tao was dismissed from the hospital and sent
back to the No.1 Division. She was in a whole-body cast and had steel pins in
several of her bones. For fear that their crime would be exposed, division
police officers refused to release Ms. Liu on parole for medical treatment. After the incident, the No. 1 Division Head Li Yong not only protected
perpetrators Yin Hanjiang and others from having to face justice but also let
them be more forceful in persecuting practitioners. After injuring practitioner
Wu Jianqiang (see below) in a beating, Division Head Li Yong was transferred to
be the No. 4 Division Head. An even more evildoing police officer named Zhang
Xuemin replaced him. Zhang was responsible for continuing to torture Ms. Liu
'mentally and physically. The police brought in three reformed practitioners from the Hebei Provincial
Brainwashing Center to brainwash Ms. Liu. When this was not successful, they
transferred her to the Hebei Provincial Legal Education Center in January 2002
to be brainwashed. This also was in vain. Then they transferred her back to the
camp's No. 5 Division to continue brainwashing her. After her three-year-term
was up on October 17, 2003, personnel from 610 Offices of Shijiazhuang City' and
the Changan District, together with enforcers from the Hedong Police Station,
abducted Ms. Liu and took her directly to the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing
Center, the so-called Hebei Provincial Legal Education Center, to torture her
before releasing her. 2. Mr. Wu Jianqiang's internal organs severely injured Partial list of persons responsible: Ex-Division Head Li Yong Police officer Wang Xiaofeng Team head Han (nickname "Han One-Rope") of 'No.1 Division. Mr. Wu Jianqiang is vice president of the Design Institute for Cangzhou
City's Planning Bureau in Hebei Province. He was illegally arrested and detained
in the No. 1 Division of the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp because he
told others the real situation of Falun Dafa. While in detention, Mr. Wu
Jianqiang suffered from various cruel tortures at the hands of the guards. Li
Yong and Wang Xiaofeng ordered police officer "Han One-Rope" to
torture Wu Jianqiang. Mr. Wu was savagely beaten for over three hours, leading
to severe injuries of his heart and kidneys. He could not urinate and lost
consciousness. Since Mr. Wu was in critical condition, the guards had no choice
but sent him to the emergency room of a hospital. Later on, police officer Han received retribution and was sent to prison, as
was the labor camp's Discipline Inspection Section Head Zhao Kai. The former No.
1 Division Head Li Yong was removed from his office and is under investigation
but was later transferred to the No. 4 Division, to continue committing crimes
against practitioners. 3. Ms. Li Huiqi still disabled from gross abuse Partial list of persons responsible: No.4 Division Head Li Yong Police officer Zhou Yilin The No.2 Team head Qiao Xiaoxia from the No. 4 Division and others. Ms. Li Huiqi is 38 years old. She was an employee at the Shijiazhuang City'
Paint Factory in Hebei Province. On February 2, 2002 she was arrested and sent
to the No. 4 Division's No. 2 Team in the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp
for a one-year term. The persecution endangered Ms. Li's life many times. Her
health deteriorated rapidly, yet the labor camp refused to release her and did
not permit her family to visit her, either. They even demanded money from her
family! On April 8, 2002, after only two months in the labor camp, Ms. Li's life
was in imminent danger again. Because they did not want to be held responsible,
they sent her to the hospital for emergency care. Only then did they notify her
family. During the inept emergency care phase of her hospitalization she was in
critical condition many times due to medical accidents. Her family prepared for
her death at least three times. The labor camp used all kinds of schemes to prevent the incident from being
exposed to the outside world. They sent several uniformed and plainclothes
police officers to the hospital to monitor Ms. Li around the clock and arrested
practitioners who came to visit her. On the
morning of December 3, 2002, a labor camp division head, together with No. 4
Division Head Li Yong and police officer Zhou Yilin, stopped further treatment
for Ms. Li's in the Hebei No. 3 Hospital, arguing that her sentence had ended.
They pushed the now paralyzed Ms. Li Huiqi into her family's care. Ms. Li's
family had to take her home on December 13, 2002. At present, Li Huiqi is still
suffering and is in constant and great pain. Partial list of persons responsible: No. 2 Division Head Zhao Zhiqian, Political Head Shi Jianzhong, No. 202 team
police officers Bian Shuqiang, Dong Xinguo and Zhang Li and others Mr. Wang Chengbiao is a teacher from the Hebei Chemical Industry School in
Shijiazhuang City. He was covertly sentenced to three years of forced labor at
the end of January 2004 and illegally detained and brutally persecuted at the
No.2 Division. As soon as he arrived there, he was put through an extended
period of sleep deprivation. Those in charge of the team forced him to stay in a
squatting position for extended periods, even when he was eating, and refused to
let him use the toilet. Meanwhile they organized a group of collaborators to try
to coerce him into renouncing his belief. Sometimes this kind of torture lasted
for over 50 days. Due to its long-term application, such mental torment can be
much more traumatizing than purely physical torture, which lasts a shorter
period of time. The first time Mr. Wang was persecuted like this he was deprived of sleep for
nine days straight. After being allowed to sleep for a while, the sleep
deprivation tactic was repeated for another seven consecutive days. During the
Chinese New Year holidays, he was given one day's rest on New Year's Day. The
following day he was again subjected to long-term sleep deprivation. He was
forced to maintain the squatting posture all the time. The police let him sleep
a little while between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. They said that it was more effective
to wake somebody up after he or she had had just a little bit of sleep. That was
their strategy to destroy the practitioners' will. This form of physical torture and mental torment continued until February 12,
2004, over 40 days. Mr. Wang was later isolated in solitary confinement and
placed under "strict control" conditions and only permitted to sleep
between the hours of 2:00 and 5:30 a.m. daily. Mr. Wang became completely
debilitated after being subjected to these extended periods of sleep
deprivation. Now all his toes are numb, he cannot lift one leg, and the other
leg is very weak. He also has high blood pressure and his life is in danger. The
authorities have refused to release him on medical parole so he can obtain
medical treatment 5. Mr. Zhang Hongsen tortured until the lower part of his body is
paralyzed Partial list of persons responsible: Wang Liqing, team head Jiang Chunqing and Du Yougui of the No. 304 Team, No. 3 Division. Mr. Zhang Hongsen, about 60 years old, is an employee at the Cangzhou
Refinery Factory, Hebei Province. Wang Liqing, Jiang Chunqing, Du Yougui and
others forced him to squat on the ground for seven whole days and nights without
sleep. They pushed Mr. Zhang down and viciously beat and kicked him and then
force-fed him. When Mr. Zhang was tortured so brutally, he miserably cried for
help, but they still didn't stop. He was so severely injured that his lower
limbs became paralyzed, and he is unable to take care of himself. He had to have
another person assist him to the toilet. The prison guards lifted him on a
stretcher, sent him home and left. Nobody took any responsibility. After Mr.
Zhang continued to practice Falun Gong, he recovered. 6. Ms. Li Baoyue abused until she could not walk Partial list of persons responsible: Shang Changming, former head of the No. 4 Division Liu Yuying, the No. 3 team head Geng Xingjun, police officer of the No. 3 Team Wang Qinglin (male), Di Manli, and Lu Hongguo of the No. 5 Division. Ms. Li Baoyue, 39 years old, is from Quzhou County, Handan City, Hebei
Province. In the fall of 2000 she was illegally detained in the No. 4 Division
of the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp and suffered all kinds of
humiliation and persecution. For not giving up the practice she was imprisoned
in a tiny cell for a long time. In April 2001, team head Liu Yuying (female) of
the No. 3 Team shocked Ms. Li's mouth and face with an electric baton and beat
her cruelly with a rubber truncheon. In June 2001, she was brutally brainwashed
24 hours a day, every day, for over a month, and the guards hung her up by her
handcuffs. Guard Geng Xingjun shocked her with an electric baton and beat her
cruelly with a rubber truncheon. Her buttocks were beaten so hard that a large
piece of skin was torn off. A 'collaborator's slap damaged one of her ears. On
September 20, 2001, Ms. Li was unconditionally released. In the beginning of 2003 Ms. Li was illegally seized again and sent to the
Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp. During the physical examination she
diagnosed with symptoms of hypertension, so the No. 4 Division, where she was
detained the first time, refused to accept her. Officials from the Quzhou County
Police Department send her to the No. 5 Division in the Shijiazhuang City'
Forced Labor Camp. During that time, labor camp police officer Lu Hongguo
ordered the collaborators to forcibly brainwash her, strictly monitor her and
deprive her sleep. Ms. 'Li kept her' righteous faith strong during more than two
months of physical abuse and psychological torment. In March 2003, the guards
enacted the so-called "spring thunder action," exchanging populations
in the forced labor camps in order to persecute those determined Dafa
practitioners. Ms. Li was sent to the more malicious Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp
for further persecution. Ms. Li was supposed to be released in November 2003.
She was so grossly abused and mistreated that she is unable to walk. 7. Cui Junhua's arm fractured from beatings Persons responsible: Shang Changming, former head of the No. 4 Division Geng Xingjun and others When the forced labor camp broadcast to the inmates the "Tiananmen
Square Self-Immolation Incident" (the fabricated Self-Immolation in
Tiananmen Square), some practitioners exposed the fact that 'the incident was
staged. The guards suppressed the information and began to beat the
practitioners. Cui Junhua came forward to stop them and said, "Stop
beating!" After the TV show, guard Geng Xingjun started beating Cui Junhua
and the other two practitioners until Cui Junhua's arm was broken. Cui was sent
to The 3rd Hospital of Hebei Province, where a doctor put the arm in a cast.
Several team heads were present during the beating, but none stopped the action. 8. Ms. Wang Xiuming no longer able to take care of herself Persons responsible: Wang Qinglin, Division Head Di Manli and others from the No. 5 Division. Ms. Wang Xiuming is from Liuji Township, Jing County, Hebei Province. In
January 2001 local authorities secretly sent her to the Shijiazhuang City'
Forced Labor Camp. Brutally and inhumanely tortured in the labor camp, both her
spirit and body suffered unimaginable pain. Among other cruel abuses, she was
locked up in a confinement cell, was forbidden to sleep for a long period of
time, was hung up on an metal gate by the handcuffs or with a rope for a long
time in the winter, was forced to stand or squat for a long time, was shocked by
many high-voltage electric batons, was beaten cruelly with a rubber truncheon,
was forbidden to use the toilet, was forced to work extra long hours, and
endured force-feeding. Her body was seriously damaged after over five months of
torture. She was released on bail for medical treatment. In October 2002, Ms. Wang was again illegally sent to the No. 5 Division'
without due process. After suffering over ten months of savage mistreatment of
her body and her spirit, Ms. Wang was no longer able to take care of herself.
She was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. She was released on bail for three
months medical treatment and sent home. 9. Ms. Sun Lianping crippled from torture Partial list of persons responsible: Shang Changming, former head of the No. 4 Division Others to be identified Ms. Sun Lianping, 25 years old, is from Jing County in Hebei Province. In
2000, because of she persisted in practicing Falun Dafa, local police illegally
sent her to the No. 4 Division of the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp. She
firmly resisted the 'brainwashing and refused to betray "
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The prison guards tortured her until
she became crippled. She is now unable to take care of herself. 10. Ms. Zhang Xiangye unable to care for herself because of torture Those directly responsible for the case will be identified. Ms. Zhang Xiangye, 50 years old, is from Beidulin Village, Wuqiang County,
Hebei Province. On August 1, 2001, she was illegally sentenced for two years' of
forced labor and sent to the Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Zhang
suffered fiendish tortures, including being cruelly beaten, being hung up by
handcuffs or ropes, and having her clothes stripped off. Ms. Zhang was once hung
by the handcuffs for a long time and was prohibited from sleeping for three
entire days under several people's rotating interrogations. They eventually bit
and broke off her finger to get her forced fingerprint on a "reform"
announcement. Three people did this to her. Blood was all over her hand.
Suffering from long time persecution, Ms. Zhang became extremely emaciated. In
June 2002 she suddenly passed out and could hardly breathe. The labor camp was
afraid of being held responsible for her condition, so they sent her home on
June 8. She was still unable to take care of herself, but officials from the
Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp kept going to her home to harass her
several times. 11. A practitioner from Zhengding County, Hebei Province, becomes crippled
from gross abuse Perpetrators: Prison guards Sun, Zhao, Wang, Sun, and Zhi from the No.2 Division Prison guard Qiao Xiaoxia from the No. 4 Division ' On September 19, 2001, the day this female practitioner was sent to the No. 2
Division of the labor camp, prison guards Sun, Zhao, Wang , Sun, and Zhi
prohibited her from getting any sleep and let the collaborators take turns to
try to brainwash her. On March 11, 2002, this practitioner was sent to the No. 4
Division of the labor camp. Qiao Xiaoxia, head of No. 2 Team, made her stand by
the wall. After standing for so long, she passed out. She could no longer move
her left leg' because the muscles had atrophied and she wasn't able to take care
of herself. Because Qiao Xiaoxia thought she was pretending, Qiao carried her to
the 2nd Provincial Hospital and applied a high-voltage current to
stimulate the nerves. Under normal circumstances, this type of electrical
stimulation is usually applied for just a few minutes at a time. They did this
to the practitioner for 30 minutes! It was finally determined that her leg
muscles had indeed atrophied. In eleven months they had tortured a healthy
person so severely that she had become a cripple. On May 25, 2002, the
Shijiazhuang City' Forced Labor Camp told her family to take her home. After
continuing to study the Fa and do the Falun Gong exercises, she recovered and is
able to walk again. (To be continued) (1)"Tying the Ropes" is
one of the cruelest torture methods used in a forced labor camp. The police tie
up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie
his hands behind his back. Then the police use all the force they can muster to
tighten the rope. Usually the person's arms become disabled in 15 minutes. If
the rope is released within 10 minutes and tied again, it's called "twice
rope-tying." If the person faints, he is doused with cold water to make him
regain consciousness. Posting date: 12/22/2004
