Outstanding Teacher Ms. Zhang Chunlan Died as a Result of Torture at Dalian City's Forced Labor Camp - Belated News


(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Chunlan, 55 years old, was a teacher from the Changjiang Road Primary School in the Xigang District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She was awarded the distinction "Outstanding Teacher" in both the city and province many times. Since she started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997, Ms. Zhang had benefited much, both physically and mentally.

In 2000 Ms. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and was detained at the Xigang District Police Department of Dalian City. During that period, she was fined and her home was searched. She lost tens of thousands of yuan in the process. As she was persistent in practicing Falun Dafa, Zhang Chunlan was illegally sentenced to forced labor for two years and was sent to Dalian City Forced Labor Camp. She was forced to do heavy labor, and the living conditions there were extremely terrible. Under these conditions, and being isolated from the outside world, her health was seriously damaged. Ms. Zhang's weight dropped to about 34 kilos (75 pounds) from about 70 kilos (154 pounds). She died tragically on August 29, 2003.
