Resist the Persecution by Legal Means and Peel off the Regime's Hypocritical Mask

(Clearwisdom.net) As the value of human rights continues to spread throughout humanity, more and more Chinese people will see how ridiculous is the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) sham theory that "the right to be well-fed is more important than human rights." Hungry or not, a person should have his human rights.

During 2004, to counter international criticism of the CCP's horrific human rights record and to ease domestic resentment, the CCP created propaganda that it is "improving" human rights. These activities included the "Protecting Citizen's Rights" initiative by the Public Security Ministry, the inclusion of a human rights clause into the constitution, the "investigation of human rights violations" by the Senior Procurator and a request to the Judicial Ministry to reform its jails.

But these "human rights measures" are phony. They did nothing to improve human rights in China and actually helped the CCP to hide its human rights crimes.

1) The CCP used these maneuvers to bargain with Western countries, hoping to create an illusion of improvement to prevent Western countries from taking action to stop the CCP's human rights abuses.

2) Chinese citizens who are not being persecuted might have been tricked into believing that the CCP does care about human rights and wants to improve. Thus, they could mistake the systematic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin and his regime as unrelated acts by corrupt law-enforcement officials and ignore the ongoing brutal genocide of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

3) Those who are being persecuted might think that the CCP is using its usual tricks to cover up its crimes, and be discouraged from protecting their own rights.

These phony measures are a cover-up of the pervasive human rights violations by Jiang's regime and the CCP, who have been persecuting religious believers, cultivation practitioners and political dissidents. For example, we never see any CCP reports about bringing to justice government officials and police officers who have violated Falun Dafa practitioners' human rights.

In today's China, the CCP, its former leader, Jiang Zemin, and Jiang's henchmen, such as Luo Gan, Zhou Yongkang, Liu Jing and others violate the human rights of Falun Dafa practitioners and dissidents. Realistically, do we expect them to arrest themselves? Because of the oppressive control, some officials in the government who really want to improve human rights in China cannot act.

In 2004, "human rights" was included into the Chinese Constitution, yet everyday we read about Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured. For example, Ms. Gao Rongrong, who worked as an accountant at the Luxun Art School in Shenyang City, Liaoning province, was shocked with electric batons by police officers at the Longshan Forced Labor Camp for about seven hours, which severely disfigured her face. Ms. Wang Guijin from Huazhuang Village, Huaiyang County, Henan Province, was nine months pregnant, but officers from the Huaiyang County 610 Office and the police brigade forced her to abort the baby. Ms. Wang Xia, age 30, is from the Bayanchuoer District, Linhe City, Inner Mongolia. Before she was detained, her weight was at least 55 kilograms (120 pounds), but being tortured in the jail reduced her weight to just over 20 kilograms (45 pounds).

There have been so many brutal crimes. In just 2004, we know that at least 200 Falun Dafa practitioners died as a result of persecution in China. The actual death toll is certainly higher. The small children of practitioners who have been imprisoned or killed are suffering without parental care, and they are discriminated against in Chinese society.

Even though the CCP's "human rights measures" are just tricks to cover up their human rights crimes, we should make use of this opportunity. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we have the responsibility to expose the human rights violations. We should use the various laws and the activities organized by the government to expose the crimes of persecution and to sue the criminals who have violated citizens' human rights.

Such actions could peel off the hypocritical mask of Jiang's regime and the CCP, expose the CCP's evil nature to the world, and remind the international community not to lessen the monitoring of human rights in China and not to expect the CCP to make true improvements.

On the other hand, such efforts could encourage people who have righteous minds to resist the persecution. For example, the law clearly prohibits "torture interrogation," but throughout China, Falun Dafa practitioners are routinely tortured during illegal interrogations. Law-enforcement officials might realize how absurd the CCP's human rights propaganda is. If many Falun Dafa practitioners make use of the "human rights measures" to protect their legal human rights, they could awaken more people within the law enforcement and judicial systems. Then, the whole society could stand up against the persecution of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Jiang and his followers have become increasingly crafty in using laws to cover up their human rights crimes. So, we should turn the tables and make large-scale use of those same laws to stand against the persecution and to peel off the regime's mask.
