Changchun Intermediate Court "Tries" and Sentences 13 Practitioners from Dehui City

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 15, 2004 Changchun City Intermediate Court opened the 3^rd session against 13 unlawfully imprisoned Dafa practitioners and sentenced them.

The 13 practitioners were segmented into three groups: 1^st group consists of five practitioners: Liu Baijun, Wei Guangxue, Zhang Xiaoyan, Zou Jibin and Jiang Wenbin; 2^nd group represents three people: Sun Qian, Liu Dianling, Zhang Wenfeng; 3^rd group is made up of the following practitioners: Lin Hongfei, Jiang Chunxian, Hu Jie, Jia Yunxia and Yang Jun.

The court session was scheduled to start at 8:30 A.M. but did not begin until 9:00 A.M. According to practitioners' relatives who sat in the session, eight practitioners Sun Qian, Liu Dianling, Zhang Wenfeng, Lin Hongfei, Jiang Chunxian, Hu Jie, Jia Yunxia and Yang Jun were calling out 'Falun Dafa is good!' in court, powerfully shocking and awing the persecutors present. The police covered the practitioners' mouths with their hands. In court, the law enforcement officers did not allow the defendants' side to present evidence. As soon as a defendant spoke one word, their mouths would be shut. It is said that the court officials decided to endorse their original accusations and maintained the original verdict. The whole court session was hastily wound up within an hour.

In response to this unconstitutional court session, law enforcement officials in Dehui City were on a high alert. Many armed police and police guards set up a cordon around the court building; over a dozen police cars and vans were at the ready; on top of the building three police were on guard; they also searched the tops of surrounding buildings thoroughly with the help of an elevating vehicle. In addition, many uniformed police officers and plainclothes police officers surrounded the courthouse area. Because it was cold and most police officers did not want to participate in the persecution of practitioners, most of them hid into local shops.

Since only one relative was allowed to sit in for each practitioner, some family members had to stand outside the courthouse. In order to see their family members, practitioner Sun Qian's 78-year-old mother and several sisters-in-law, practitioner Liu Dianling's parents, Hu Jie's mother, Jia Yunxia's father were among those who stood in the cold wind for over one hour.
