Continuing to Expose Various Tortures in Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center

(Clearwisdom.net) Staff members at the Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center have tortured many Dafa disciples to death, and Clearwisdom.net has exposed it many times. However, the guards are still very rampant there. We think it is necessary to expose the crimes once again, so that people can clearly see the true story.

Based on reliable reports, we can categorize the ongoing persecution there within the following types:

1. From "Phony Kindness" to "Brutal Torture"

Before the Party's 16^th Conference in 2002, strategies such as deception, false kindness, and circulating counterfeit Dafa lecture articles were used in Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center. The effect was minimal. On November 11, 2002, right before the Party's 16^th Conference, a so-called "mobilizing meeting" was held. During the meeting Chen Guiqing, the head of the center, claimed he would transform all practitioners that had not been transformed, or at least weaken those practitioners' determination. On that night, the police guards started to brutally mistreat the practitioners. They forced more than 70 practitioners down to the basement. The practitioners who were wounded and unable to walk were carried there. They then brought practitioners hands forward and cuffed them onto rings on the floor, and the practitioners had to squat there. Some practitioners' hands were brought backwards and cuffed onto the window railings. Each practitioner's hair was then cut in a strange shape (half completely cut off, while the other half remained untouched). Their mouths were then gagged with a big ribbon knot stuffed in the mouth. Most practitioners' mouths were wounded due to the tightness of the gags. The police guards then beat and shocked them with electric batons. The same thing continued at night, with inmates watching the practitioners closely, preventing them from sleeping. Police guards also placed a basin of cold water under the practitioners' bottoms. If a practitioner could not continue, she would sit down into the cold water. Some practitioners fainted during the torture, and the police guards forcibly fed them heart stimulant. For practitioners who did not transform, on the fifth day guards forced them to wear only underwear, and opened all the windows. At the same time, the police guards shocked them with electric batons.

2. Humiliation

While practitioners were cuffed onto rings on the floor, and their hair was cut in a strange shape, they were not allowed to use the bathroom. During the daytime they were allowed to urinate or defecate only three times, and inmates held it with a basin. At night, even this was not allowed. Many practitioners had to urinate or defecate in their pants. Ms. Li Hongxia, a practitioner in Mudanjiang, was tortured inhumanly in this manner for seven months. The police guards rolled down her and Yang Ruiqin's pants and underwear, exposing their buttocks. They were then forced to hold their arms out horizontally on both sides. Their bottoms were beaten, with red traces left. But Ms. Li Hongxia still did not yield. Finally, she was able to leave due to her heart inflammation. At that time, she had been kept there for more than two months beyond her term's expiration.

For those who were forced to transform under the torture, they were taken upstairs for "study." From morning until night, they were forced to read slanderous materials attacking Dafa. They were also asked to write down their understandings, and take exams. If they did not conform, or the answers were not satisfactory, they were made to squat all day and were deprived of sleep at night. Those who wrote documents guaranteeing to give up the practice and denouncing Dafa felt very regretful. Once they declared those written documents as null and void, they received even harsher persecution.

Whenever a new practitioner was arrested and taken there, the police guards stormed her with brainwashing day and night. Every day the practitioner was taken out for persecution before dawn, and was not returned until midnight. If she did not transform, she would be brutally tortured, and threatened with jail sentences. Sun Yanchun has suffered from mental collapse due to the torture that she experienced, and cannot sleep.

Whenever higher officers came to inspect, the determined Dafa practitioners were taken to the basement to labor. Those who were considered to have been transformed by the brainwashing and torture were asked to answer a questionnaire which asked questions such as whether they had clean water to drink, whether they had warm water to shower with, whether they were able to borrow and read books, whether the guards were beating others, whether determined Dafa practitioners were treated the same way as others, and so on. Those who answered the questionnaire were compelled to lie and describe the vicious den as if it were a warm home.

The drug rehabilitation center forcibly sold a variety of materials that slandered Dafa to Dafa practitioners. Whether you want them or not, 70 Yuan is deducted from your account. The center also asked for "donations" from time to time. One must give two donations to use the washer alone. Practitioners were not allowed to bring their own bedding. They had to buy sheets from the center; some were even forced to buy three sheets. There are physical examinations twice a year, and some Dafa practitioners were forced to undergo more examinations. Each time, the practitioners were made to pay.

In order to make money, the drug rehabilitation center asked Dafa practitioners to select production of either toothpicks or chopsticks. At 6:00 a.m., they had to get up and start work after washing. Other than having meals, they had to work continuously until 9:00 p.m. Sometimes they worked until midnight, and still needed to continue on the following day. Each day they only had five minutes for washing. During these five minutes, the police guards yelled, "Hurry up, hurry up!"

Above are just a very few records of the persecution that Dafa disciples have endured at the Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center. From them, we get an idea of the true situation regarding the "kindly caring," as claimed within the propaganda: It is actually heavy beating and electric shocking in the freezing wind. This is what Jiang's regime has done.
