(Clearwisdom.net) 1. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Wang Yufang Is in Critical Condition
Owing to Torture at Qianjin Police Station Ms. Wang Yufang of Jiamusi was arrested on December 19, 2003 by policemen
from the Qianjin Police Station after being reported. Today, she is in very
critical condition at a forced labor camp. The forced labor camp informed Ms. Wang's family before the Chinese Lunar New
Year that they had already notified the higher authorities about Ms. Wang's
deteriorating conditions. However, the police bureau refused to release Ms.
Wang. Tens of thousands of Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an
average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] had already been extorted
from her family in the past. Now the police station intends to extort even more
money from the family. Also, the dying Ms. Wang Yufang has a 10-year-old child
who is presently looked after by relatives. 2. [Xingtai City and Shahe City, Hebei Province] The "610 Office" Stages a
Wanton Revenge after Falun Dafa Practitioners Successfully Broadcast Truth
Clarification Programs on Television After Falun Dafa practitioners from Xingtai City and Shahe City, in Hebei
Province, successfully broadcast truth clarification programs, the "610 Office"
[A bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun
Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as
well as over the political and judiciary branches] became terrified. The
"610 Office" immediately began to tail practitioners, and they frantically , and
theeyset up secret sentry posts to track down the practitioners involved in the
broadcast in Handan. The Handan "610 Office" as well as the city police bureau,
police sub bureaus, and police stations began a new round of harassment and
persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and they arrested some practitioners
without going through proper procedures (names of the arrested under
investigation). When the "610 Office" failed to find a Dafa practitioner, they
would detain the practitioner's son or daughter. 3. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Shi Jinhua Has
Been Arrested for Broadcasting Truth Clarification Video Programs from Home
At the end of November, 2003 Ms. Shi Jinhua broadcast truth clarification
video programs from her home, which happened to be under a TV transmitting
tower. Many residents in the surrounding areas watched these programs. On the
second day, when Ms. Shi planned to broadcast for the second time, she was
discovered by the police. They broke into her house, grabbed her and slapped her
face vehemently. Ms. Shi Jinhua then repeatedly shouted at the top of her lungs,
"Falun Dafa is good!" until she lost her voice. She is now being held at the
Qidong Detention Center. 4. [Xinyu Prefecture, Jiangxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Fu Jian and
Others Sentenced to Imprisonment In November 2003 Falun Dafa practitioner Fu Jian of Xinyu Prefecture, Jiangxi
Province was sentenced to ten years imprisonment. Practitioners Yang Shiqian and
Fu Jianfeng were each sentenced to eight years, and the sentences of three other
practitioners ranged from one year to four years. In early December, more
practitioners were arrested in Jiangxi Province for sentencing. 5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Song Jing Is
Beaten Until Her Body Turned Black and Blue at Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp
26-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Jing of Yantai City, Shandong
Province was beaten by police at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for not
renouncing her belief in Falun Dafa. The policemen there used wooden batons to
continuously beat her every day, and her body became black and blue everywhere. 6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Niu Dengfeng has
Been Abducted Dafa practitioner Mr. Niu Dengfeng of Baoding City, Hebei Province was
abducted by the Shijiazhuang National Security Bureau of Hebei Province in
mid-December, 2003. Mr. Niu then went on a hunger strike to protest the
persecution. There have been no reports of his situation since. 7. [Jingzhou City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Detained at
the Second Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp Division Resist the Persecution Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Baozhong is from Linghe Village, Jianye
Township, Linghai City, Liaoning Province. On November 26, 2003 Mr. Chen
Baozhong announced publicly the start of his hunger strike, which he used to
protest against the persecution. At the same time, Mr. Zhang Baoshi from
Jincheng Paper Mill in Linghai City also went on a hunger strike for three days.
These protests carried the voice of all the detained Falun Dafa practitioners in
the Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp, and the duo won everyone's encouragement and
acclaim. Later, when the policemen found that they could not shake Chen
Baozhong's steadfast righteous thoughts, they had no other choice but to release
him. 8. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Liu Jinhui and
Zhang Yanqiu Have Been Arrested by Policeman Yu Hongchang and His Men From the end of 2001 to September, 2002, policeman Yu Hongchang and his men
from Baita Police Sub-bureau went to Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Jinhui's
home many times to harass her. Ms. Liu Jinhui's husband, parents, brothers, and
sisters were all very frightened by the police. Later, Ms. Liu Jinhui was forced
to flee home with her daughter and wander about in an unfamiliar land to avoid
arrest. In September 2002 Liu Jinhui and her daughter returned back home to
visit Ms. Liu's aging parents, and she was reported by someone who was assigned
to keep surveillance on her home. She was then tailed. Ms. Liu Jinhui phoned
another practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yanqiu, telling her that she would visit her.
Because Ms. Liu's telephone was tapped, when Ms. Liu Jinhui arrived at Ms Zhang
Yanqiu' home, policemen from Baita Police Sub-bureau swarmed out and arrested
both practitioners. At the time, policeman Yu Hongchang was laughing and looking
triumphant. Before the arrest, Yu Hongchang phoned Dafa practitioner Ms Zhang Yanqiu many
times to have heart-to-heart talks with her. He used impolite language in his
calls, and he threatened to take Ms Zhang Yanqiu to the police bureau. Ms Zhang
Yanqiu resolutely ignored the threat. Thus, Yu Hongchang was waiting for an
opportunity for revenge, and he warned Zhang Yanqiu, "I will find an excuse to
send you to jail. Just wait and see." 9. [Liaoning Province] Policemen Li Songtao and Li Houyu of the Jingzhou
Forced Labor Camp Go to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to Torture Falun Dafa
Practitioners There On December 5, 2003 Deputy Head of the Education Section of the Jingzhou
Forced Labor Camp policeman Li Houyu, Deputy Head of the Second Division of the
camp Li Songtao and three other policemen (Zhang Chunfeng, Zhou Jinyue, and Han
Jianjun), as well as the policemen from the Special Education Division of the
Fuxin Forced Labor Camp, carried with them the instruments (handcuffs, electric
batons, and safety head covers) that they used to persecute Dafa practitioners
in their respective camps, and traveled to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor
Camp in Shenyang to torture more than 70 steadfast Dafa practitioners for 21
days. They finally returned to their respective camps on December 26. The
policemen from the Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp then received bonuses of 300 Yuan
each on top of their salaries from the Justice Ministry. Furthermore, Policeman
Li Songtao was promoted to political commissar of the Second Division. On January 7 and 8, 2004 policemen of the Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp forced
the Falun Dafa practitioners to write letters to their families and pressed them
to include in their letters testimonies on how the Clearwisdom.net website was
fabricating lies, how the forced labor camp had never beaten or cursed anyone,
and how good the policemen were. The police also required the Falun Dafa
practitioners to tell their families that they could eat anything they wanted to
eat in the labor camp and that when they became ill, the police would pay for
their medication. In addition to sending the bogus letters to the families, the
police also published these letters that were written against the practitioners'
will in the camp newspaper to deceive and poison the non-practitioners who are
also subject to forced labor. 10. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Zhiyi Is
Transferred from Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp to Fuxin Forced Labor Camp Policemen from the Second Division of the Jingzhou Forced Labor Camp brutally
tortured practitioners Mr. Zhang Zhiyi and Hu Yude after they were transferred
from Anshan Forced Labor Camp, forced them to watch video tapes that slandered
Falun Dafa, and asked collaborators [Former Falun Gong practitioners who have
renounced the practice after brainwashing and torture and now assist in
persecuting Dafa practitioners] to try to persuade them into betraying their
beliefs in Falun Dafa. The two Dafa practitioners feared neither persecution nor
death in validating Dafa. Mr. Zhang Zhiyi once said, "It's impossible for me to
give up the cultivation of Falun Dafa!" When the police finally realized that
they could not sway Mr. Zhang into abandoning his beliefs in Falun Dafa, they
transferred him to Fuxin Forced Labor Camp. 11. [Yanshan County, Hebei Province] Seventy-Year Old Liu Guoxiang Arrested
for Reading a Book Entitled "Zhuan Falun" In autumn 2001, when a tax collectors and policemen from the Hanji Township
in Yanshan County of Hebei Province went to Xuetang Village to collect the
vehicle and vessel use tax, they found Mr. Liu Guoxiang, who is around seventy
years old, reading Zhuan Falun [the main book of Falun Dafa]. They then
immediately arrested the old man without listening to his explanations. These
people from the local government also forced Mr. Liu to pay a fine of 5,000
Yuan. 12. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zeng Rong
Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor Dafa practitioner Ms. Zeng Rong (retired) from Nanchang City, Jiangxi
Province was detained and locked up at the Nanchang City Number Two Detention
Center by the Dinanzhan police and her work unit in December 2000. In March 2001
she was sent to a brainwashing session run by the Nanchang police academy.
Because she refused to give up her beliefs in Falun Dafa, she was sentenced to
three years of forced labor. She is now held at the Jiangxi Provincial Women's
Prison of Drug Rehabilitation. 13. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Facts of the Persecution of Falun Dafa
Practitioner Zhang Xuanshou Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Xuanshou, 66, of Qidong County, Hengyang
City was an outstanding Communist Party member in his factory and a pacesetter
for all workers in the area before his retirement. On July 20, 1999, when
Jiang's clique began to fabricate charges against and frame Falun Gong, Mr.
Zhang Xuanshou determinedly journeyed to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He
was arrested by local policemen and locked up in the Qidong County Detention
Center. He was also fined 2,500 Yuan. In 2000 he again went to Beijing to
appeal, and he was once again sent to the county detention center. He was fined
4,000 Yuan as well. Mr. Zhang was then sentenced to one and a half years of
forced labor and sent to Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City. In May
2002 Mr. Wang wandered about far from home to avoid arrest after being chased by
the Qidong County "610 Office" and the police. The Qidong "610 Office" and the
police first forced Mr. Zhang's third daughter-in-law into unemployment and told
her if she wanted to get her job back, she would have to find her father-in-law.
They then detained Mr. Zhang's elder son, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, and
forced them to disclose their knowledge of the whereabouts of Mr. Zhang. On
learning of this news, a friend of Mr. Zhang's son phoned Mr. Zhang Xuanshou.
However, his telephone was tapped by the "610 Office." As a result, this friend
of Mr. Zhang's son was arrested, and his mobile phone and necklace were
confiscated. He was also fined 2,000 Yuan. Not long afterwards, Zhang Shanshou
was once again arrested, and he has been held for over a year now. Mr. Zhang was
sentenced to three years imprisonment, and he suffered many beatings in jail.
Now he is in very poor health, he is unable to see clearly and he can not hear
anything. However, the prison officials still refuse to allow him to see a
doctor. 14. [Anhui Province] Anhui Women's Forced Labor Camp Brutally Tortures Falun
Dafa Practitioners The Anhui Women's Forced Labor Camp has been using various methods of torture
to torment Falun Dafa practitioners. These include solitary confinement,
"Personal cangues" [Cangue, the name of an instrument of torture that is now
used to refer to the many people who are designated to supervise the behavior of
each practitioner], extended working hours and sleep deprivation. One time
when practitioner Ms. Shao Bixia refused to yield to the torture, policemen
forced her to stand in front of a wall for a lengthy amount of time. She
eventually fell and hit her head on the wall. As a result, she now has a very
large lump on her head. 15. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Lu Qiying Is
Abducted from Her Work Unit at the End of 2003 and Has Not Been Released
