Prompted by Yet Another Torture Death of a Dafa Practitioner in China, Practitioners in California Appeal to Bring Head Criminal Jiang Zemin to Justice
(Clearwisdom.net) We learned on February 9, 2004 that police had
beaten another Falun Gong practitioner in Mainland China to death. Falun Gong practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area held a candlelight
vigil on the evening of February 9 and strongly urged the Chinese government to
stop persecuting Falun Gong, and to bring the head persecutor Jiang Zemin and
the people responsible for this torture death to justice. It was learned that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Peng Guangjun was tortured to
death at Tuanhe Labor Camp in Beijing on January 26, 2004. The 55-year-old Mr.
Peng Guangjun was a Dafa practitioner from Houqiaoxin Village, Qiaoxin Town,
Huairou District Beijing. Since the beginning of the persecution on July 20,
1999, Mr. Peng had been arrested many times. The authorities also detained or
sent him to brainwashing. He was last arrested on September 28, 2003. On January 26, 2004, the
government suddenly told his family about Peng Guangjun's death, and threatened
that if they didn't go along with the government's "arrangements," all
members from the family would lose their jobs and property. Someone who saw Peng Guangjun's body before it was cremated said his head and
body were black and blue, there were scars on his face from electric baton
shocks, and the body also showed signs of broken limbs. Mr. Lu, a Falun Gong practitioner at the candlelight vigil said that they
came to the Chinese consulate to ask for an end to the persecution, to bring the
perpetrators to justice, and also hope the police officers in China will stop
following Jiang Zemin's orders. Jiang has been charged with
"genocide," "torture," and "crimes against
humanity" in six countries, including the U.S. and Belgium. Mr. Lu added that overseas Falun Gong practitioners and practitioners in
China are one body. The overseas practitioners will continue to focus on the
persecution in China, to investigate and bring to justice all those persons who
are participating and have participated in the persecution. As of late January 2004, the Canadian authorities have put the names of 45
main persecutors of Falun Gong on a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
monitoring list, including Jiang Zemin, Li Lanqing, and Luo Gan. If any of them
enters Canada, Canadian police will start an investigation of the crimes of
which they are accused. The result might be that these people might be denied a
visa or expelled from Canada. They could even be sued for "crimes against
humanity" in Canada. We call on the Chinese police and Chinese government officials to stop
following in Jiang's footsteps. Jiang and his followers will certainly receive
severe punishment for their crimes against Falun Gong. Reporter Kelly Huang from San Francisco
