By A Dafa practitioner who knows the facts

(Clearwisdom.net) Shenyang Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Dongqing was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor at the Masanjia Labor Camp because she appealed to the authorities and spoke the truth about Falun Gong. Her term was up in September 2002. However, the Masanjia Labor Camp framed her on fabricated charges, and sentenced Li to a five-year prison term, sending her to the Dabei Female Prison of Shenyang for further persecution. Li's situation is critical. We hope Dafa practitioners over the world, as well as all kind-hearted people help to rescue her.

Ms. Li Dongqing, female, was born in 1962. She is 1.70 m tall, of average build, is pretty, and has a pure heart. She worked at Shenyang Xincheng Chemicals as a technician. Because of the company's poor performance she was later let go. She lives on Suichuan Road, Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, within the jurisdiction of the Suichuan Road administrative office and the Suichuan police station. Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Li was very sick. She suffered from pyelonephritis, edema, stomach problems, numb limbs, chilling of her hands and feet, and had difficulty walking and climbing stairs. When she spent money on medication, she didn't have enough money left for meals. Every day she took a handful of pills, which meant she had difficult living. Although she was young, she was very weak. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, all the illnesses she suffered cleared up, and her family life became normal once again.

In September of 1999, after the persecution of Falun Dafa began, Dongqing went to Beijing to appeal, and to tell the government the facts about Falun Gong, and how she benefited after she started practicing. Before she arrived at the Appeals Office, the police arrested her, and sent her to the Office of Shenyang City in Beijing. She was illegally detained. On the second day, the police from the Suichuan police station sent her to a detention center where she was detained for 15 days. After the 15-day detention, she was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp for three-years of forced labor, without informing anyone in her family.

In Masanjia Labor Camp Dongqing often did the Falun Gong exercises, and explained the truth about Falun Gong to the police and the criminals there, so the police, headed by Su Jing, head of the labor camp, physically punished, scolded, beat, and humiliated her. During October 2001 and May 2002, almost 90% of the time Dongqing was kept in a solitary confinement cell. The first time was 22 days, and after that, each time averaged about 15 days. It is hard to imagine what Dafa practitioners go through in an environment that is saturated with violence, suppression, humiliation, and terror.

In September 2002, Dongqing completed the three-year term of forced labor. The Masanjia Labor Camp should have released her. Instead, the Camp fabricated some charges against her and brought her to the Shenyang Court. The Court sentenced her to a five-year term, without doing any investigation, and without allowing any testimony. They didn't allow anyone outside the court to know about the sentence, and illegally sent Dongqing to Shenyang Dabei Female Prison.

Other practitioners sent there at that time included Song Caihong and Li Liming. A practitioner later described the trial, "The No. 2 female brigade wanted to use this show-trial, sending Li Dongqing and the other two practitioners to the Dabei Prison as a means of creating an atmosphere of white terror." The police first detained Li Dongqing and the other two practitioners in the eatery, and beat them in an attempt to force them to yield. Then they gathered all of the practitioners, over 1,300 of them, in front of the entrance of the eatery. They had a company of policemen surround the practitioners and held a show-trial.

When Li Dongqing appeared on the stage, everyone could see that her face was covered with bruises. However, all could recognize her steadfast and righteous belief in Dafa. She started a speech, with the righteous stance of a Dafa practitioner. She said, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is righteous. We practice truth, compassion, and tolerance. That is not wrong. We are all striving to be good. We are innocent. We are persecuted for no reason." Her firm and righteous voice echoed across the sky of the No. 2 female brigade. Her righteous thoughts restrained the evil and no policeman dared to speak a word. Before Dongqing and the two other practitioners were sent to the prison, they were illegally detained at Shenyang Detention Center for over a month (Address: Wangshi Village, Sujiatun District, Shenyang City). They started a hunger strike as soon as they arrived. Later, they were sent to the hospital at Dabei Prison for more intense persecution.

At the end of December 2002, Dongqing was diagnosed with contagious acute hepatitis. The relevant department at Dabei Prison wanted to allow Dongqing to get treatment at a hospital outside the prison, under surveillance. However, the police who checked on her illness determined that Dongqing had no problem. They determined this because Dongqing had told them the facts about Falun Gong, and that Falun Gong is good. That is, they used her words to judge whether she was ill or not, and ignored the doctor's diagnosis. The police from the Suichuan police station refused to take her back, using the excuse that, "We cannot handle her if she comes back," so Dongqing is still suffering from the persecution.

At the beginning of 2003, Dongqing held a hunger strike to protest how she was treated. For over one year, Dongqing refused to wear the prison clothing, refused to use the prison quilts, and refused to have food from the prison (what she eats is provided by her family members). Every day she repeatedly says, "Return the innocence of Falun Dafa," "Return the innocence of our Teacher," "Falun Dafa is the righteous law," etc. She usually doesn't talk with others. The prison sends two to four prisoners to watch her. Because she doesn't follow the rules set for practitioners, she is often beaten, scolded, and shocked with electric batons. The people in the prison think Dongqing has mental problems. Right now, Dongqing's health is not very good. From time to time she has edema.

She was detained for 15 days, then sentenced to 3-years of forced labor, and then 5 years in prison, all because she wanted to appeal to the government, and tell the authorities the truth about Falun Gong. She never even had a chance to speak out. What a brutal disregard of fundamental human rights! It truly shows that the "Rule of law," and "Rule by moral standards" that Jiang Zemin's political cronies brag about is nothing more than a travesty. It thoroughly exposes the inhuman policy used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Dongqing's parents are in their 80's. Dongqing is their only daughter. They are deprived of her caring, and suffer endless pain. Who doesn't have parents, and who doesn't have a son or daughter? In China, how many Falun Gong practitioners' families are suffering from this kind of tragedy, from the kind of separation suffered by Dongqing's parents?

Even worse, Dongqing's young daughter has been separated from her for over four years, since September 1999. She is in her early teens and needs her mother's caring and guidance. Without her mother, Dongqing's daughter has always been lonely.

All those who have participated in persecuting Dongqing, please think about your actions. Is it fair and just to cruelly persecute a law-abiding citizen just because she wants to be a good person? What does it do to your conscience and to your heart to persecute good people? Don't use the excuse, "Jiang made us do it." You, yourself, are making things worse. When the time for punishment comes, whoever creates karma will pay for it. Don't ruin your future by coveting small personal gains. Many people around you are clear-headed and don't participate in the persecution. Neither should you.

We call on all Falun Dafa practitioners and all kindhearted people around world to rescue Dongqing. Allow Dongqing to return to a normal life so that she can take care of her parents, her daughter, and her husband.
