(Clearwisdom.net) I am an elderly Falun Gong practitioner. Once I went downtown to run some errands. On the bus back home, I saw a young girl looking very sad. I asked her why. She said, "I fell asleep on the train and all my money was stolen."

All the people, including policemen and officers on the bus, were merely interested in what happened to the girl but no one showed any sympathy to her. The driver started to sell tickets to the passengers. I bought a ticket for the girl. The driver said, "It's hard to believe that you, an old woman, are willing to buy a long-distance ticket for another person." I said, "I'm a Falun Gong practitioner. I wouldn't have done this had I not learned Falun Gong. I don't have a job, and my living expenses all come from my sons." The driver said I was promoting something against the government, and asked, "Aren't you afraid that the police might catch you?" A policeman sitting beside me stared at me. I said, "How can this be against the government? Our Teacher teaches us to consider others first, in all situations. Is it wrong that I help the young lady in trouble?" At this time, someone on the bus said, "Nowadays good and evil have been reversed in this world." The policeman dropped his head and didn't dare to look at me.

I once read a story in some Falun Gong truth clarification materials. An old man riding a bicycle hit by a car in Yangtun Village, Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. Without saying anything, the old man simply got up, brushed off the dirt and then got on his bike and left. The security chief officer's wife happened to witness the whole thing. She shouted, "He must be a Falun Gong practitioner. Otherwise he would have asked for money from the car driver. Catch the old man quickly!" Such a story is really sad, as good people are arrested while bad people remain at large. Sadder is the fact that such a story is not uncommon in China.

Falun Gong practitioners help others; however, their kindness is used to identify them so they can be persecuted. Good people are arrested. If such a phenomenon continues, our society will become hopeless. Who would then be willing to help each other when we are in trouble? Isn't Jiang Zemin's suppression of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" the same as the suppression of humankind's most virtuous nature? Isn't he gradually turning people into something the very opposite of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance"?
