Ms. Qiu Xiuxin, 38, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qingdao City, Shandong Province. In August 2001, she was unlawfully sentenced by the Dongcheng District Court in Beijing to ten years in prison. She is currently being unlawfully held in the Shandong Province Women's Prison.

The Shandong Women's Prison has deployed the majority of its prison laborers to produce clothing. The work environment is extremely harsh. The production area of the No. 4 Section is located in the basement of the women's prison. The Falun Dafa practitioners held there have not seen daylight for two straight years. There are over 300 prisoners packed together in there. The poor air quality makes it difficult to breathe and many people are suffering from lung conditions and coughing. The endless overtime and overnight workload adds to the torture. The longest uninterrupted shift lasted eight days and eight nights in the hot month of september. Inmates were not allowed to sleep or take a shower. A shower was granted once every two or three months. Many have suffered from scabies infections.

The following is an explanation upon reading the report on the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Gong Ruijuan posted on the Minghui website on January 31, 2004.

Ms. Gong had been unlawfully held in the No. 2 Brigade of the Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Prison. Despite the severe persecution, her belief in Falun Dafa remained firm. After her three year term matured, she was transferred back to Weifang City and monitored by the "610 Office." ["610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.]

Ms. Gong Ruijuan was an elementary school math teacher of the Rixiang Friendship School in Weifang City. Zhou Ying, the principal of the school, has assisted the "610 Office" in carrying out the persecution against her. After she was transferred to the brainwashing session held by the "610 Office," the lawless officials from the school worked with members of the "610 Office" to continue their persecution of Ms. Gong. Fu Jinbin, head of the "610 Office", claimed that if she refused to be brainwashed, she would be sent back to the labor camp.

Shi Wending is the director of the Henan Province No. 5147 Xiaozhai Police Station, a former defense contractor. Shi conspired with the municipal "610 Office" to make threatening telephone calls to Falun Dafa practitioners.

In May 2003, Luo Gan visited Jiaozuo, Xinxiang and Jiyuan areas in Henan Province under the pretense of conducting SARS inspections but instead was inspecting the progress of the suppression of Falun Gong. During that period, Falun Dafa practitioner He Chuantong was unlawfully taken to the Xiaozhai Police Station when Falun Dafa materials were found at his home. He Chuantong managed to escape two days later with righteous thoughts in mind. He is now unable to return home in order to avoid further persecution. Shi Wending has kept up the pressure by sending people to track him down and return him to Jiyuan for further persecution.

The Xiaozhai Police Station has held numerous brainwashing sessions in an attempt to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up their belief. Practitioners He Chuantong, Zhao Fengling, Li Yuping and Han Jinzhou have all suffered from their abuse.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yuzhen, 54, lives in a residential community in the Xishichang area of Huaiyin District in Jinan City. She started practicing Falun Dafa after July 20, 1999. The Xishichang Police Station in Huaiyin District unlawfully arrested her on January 14, 2004, the day before Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve. She is currently being held in the Liuchangshan Detention Center in Jinan City.

It has been reported that a collaborator, Feng Qingdong, had betrayed her own belief and led to Ms. Liu's arrest. Feng is a retired worker from the Jinan Machinery and Engines Factory. Around September 2003, she was unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor after the authorities found Falun Gong materials in her home. After enduring the persecution at the forced labor camp, she was forced to renounce her belief.

Ms. Wang Guilan, in her 60's, was a Falun Gong practitioner at Tianjia Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. Before she started practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from headache, stomachache and colon problems. She also suffered from nasal cancer. All her illnesses were gone after she started practicing Falun Gong exercises. On July 20, 1999, Jiang's group of political scoundrels launched the persecution of Falun Gong. No villagers were allowed to practice Falun Gong exercises and patrollers were hired to enforce the policy. Ms. Wang's illnesses returned. She died in May 2002 after medical treatments failed to save her life.

Around the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day in 2004, the Daqing and Suihua Forced Labor Camps colluded to further persecute against Falun Dafa practitioners. So far, they have transferred Hu Hongji, Liu Fubin, Guo Fadong, Ma Zhihong and other Falun Dafa practitioners who are steadfast in their belief from the Daqing Forced Labor Camp to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Originally there were ten Falun Dafa practitioners held in the No. 2 Brigade in the Daqing Forced Labor Camp, and now there are only three left.

Ms. Ye Huiqin was thrown into the Jiujiang Detention Center in March 2001. In the same year, she was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. Her term should have matured in March 2003. However, the Majialong Forced Labor Camp has refused to release her nine months later. Many other Falun Dafa practitioners remain under custody at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp as their terms have long matured.

Ms. Cui Fengying, 65, is a retired worker from Native Products in Jiujiang. She suffered from stomach problems and extraneous bone growth in the waist. She was in a poor health condition before practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. Only two months into practicing Falun Gong, she was able to discard her medicine which she had depended on throughout the years. In October 2000, Ms. Cui went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was taken to a detention center by the Police Department in Lushan District Branch. She was in custody for 19 days in the detention center with inmates on criminal charges. Authorities extorted over 3,000 yuan from her. [The average monthly income of an average worker in China is 500 yuan.] In January 2001, she was transferred to a brainwashing center and 600 yuan was extorted from her again.

Mr. Hu Changming, 67, is a retired teacher in Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province. Informants turned him in to the police while he was clarifying the truth on September 11, 2003. The county "610 Office" has since unlawfully held him in custody. The police have also ransacked his home numerous times. Lu Longlai, deputy head of the Jiujiang County Police Department in Jiangxi Province, is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong: 86-792-8521153 (home), 86-13707920006 (cellular).

On December 4, 2003, Yitong County police in Jilin Province started a new round of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. The approach they took was particularly despicable. The officers did not knock on the door. Instead, they waited quietly outside until someone opened the door. Then, the officers broke into the residence without a warrant and made illegal arrests. In the morning of December 4, the police officers unlawfully broke in to arrest Falun Dafa Ms. Li Aiying. She tied quilt strips and tried to escape from the window on the sixth floor. She died from the fall above the ground. It has been reported the following Falun Dafa practitioners have been placed under arrest: Chen Jingru, Xu Hongyan, Chen Yuxia, Chen Yuxia's 70-year-old mother, Li Chongwei, and Li Zhibiao. These practitioners have been unlawfully held at the Yitong County Detention Center. They have been on hunger strike to protest the evil persecution. By January 10, 2004 as we learned about their situation, Chen Jingru, Xu Hongyan, Chen Yuxia and the other practitioners are still suffering from force-feeding and other abuses.

At the end of October 2003, the Tieling Song and Dance Artists Group from Liaoning Province arrived at a county in Southern China to put on a so-called show "Promoting Science and Embracing Tomorrow." The show contained contents that defamed Falun Dafa. When Falun Dafa practitioners heard about this, they sent righteous thoughts right away. The original premiere scheduled for the following day was cancelled and rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. a day later. Besides sending righteous thoughts at home, Falun Dafa practitioners also gathered together to send righteous thoughts near the theatre half an hour before the rescheduled show time. The loudspeaker outside the theatre announced, "Great news! A rare opportunity! Remaining tickets are priced at only 5 yuan each...." (The local Political and Judiciary Committee had previously ordered organizations and companies to purchase tickets at 10 yuan each.) No pedestrians stopped by. Many Falun Dafa practitioners stood in front of the theatre along the street to send righteous thoughts. Soon the loudspeaker went dead, and then the lights on the poster burned out. Actors and actresses on the stage lost their voices. The small audience gradually left the theatre. And by 9:15 p.m., the show ended in a rush.

The Handan City "610 Office," the Handan City Police Department and various subordinate police stations assisted the provincial "610 Office" to placed several Falun Dafa practitioners under arrest in Handan City, Hebei Province. It has been verified that Falun Dafa practitioners who have been unlawfully arrested include: Tang Hui, Zhao Yuhong, Dan Xiu'e, and Duan Xinyue.

Falun Dafa practitioners Wang Jianquan and Ma Fuyue are from Weichang, Yangquanzi, Panjin City. In the evening of January 15, they were unlawfully arrested by officers from the Yangquanzi Police Station. Cao Shusheng, head of the police station, Li Kejun, director, and an officer named Zhao Rongguo took part in the arrests. The two practitioners were taken to the Panshan Detention Center. On January 19, they were each unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. They are currently being held in the Panjin Forced Labor Camp. Their families have been denied visits as they have been placed under so-called "strict management."

Jiyuan City Falun Dafa practitioners Miao Jiayou, He Yanling and Guo Aiqin were unlawfully arrested after going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 1999. Zheng Weimin, head of the Wulongkou Town Police Station, ordered the police officers to handcuff each of the practitioners who were arrested for going to Beijing. The officers then took pleasure in swinging the practitioners' feet from side to side using their steel bars. The handcuffs cut into the practitioners' wrist as they were left hanging off the ground. These thugs also stripped all the clothes off the practitioners in winter and whipped them as hard as possible.
