Dafa practitioner Ms. Jingxia Yu was illegally detained at the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Center by the Xinhua Police Section in Shijiazhuang City. She has been kept there for over twenty days. Due to police brutality, she is now very ill and horribly thin, both her legs are severely swollen and she cannot walk. In addition, her condition is complicated by kidney problems, and her internal organs have been damaged. She is on the verge of death.

Since August of 2003, several Dafa practitioners who have been detained at the Wafangdian Prison in Liaoning province have been under intense persecution by the "Intense Management Team" because the practitioners resisted the suppression. These practitioners were forced to sit on small stools for a long time; the longest was forced to sit for several months. Other practitioners went on a hunger strike to demand the return of the practitioners who had been sent to the intense persecution program. Several practitioners were violently force-fed and beaten. Those who went on hunger strike for several days and were extremely weak were also beaten. Among them Mr. Guozhan Lu, Mr. Fangxu Liu and Mr. Yue She had several ribs broken, and Mr. Hui Gao had severe internal organ damage from being beaten.

Since the persecution started in July 1999, nearly 200 Dafa practitioners have been detained in Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp, where they were beaten by batons, hung up, punched and kicked, subjected to brutal force feeding, and subjected to constant anti-Falun Gong propaganda. Ms. Jinfeng Gao was beaten until she suffered a mental breakdown. Ms. Yaping Li had one arm broken. Because Ms. Guiying went on hunger strike, she was locked in a bed and forbidden to use the restroom. The torture caused her to go into a coma.

Several Dafa practitioners went to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun city on December 7, 2003. While sending forth righteous thoughts, they hung up posters saying "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners," "Release Falun Gong Practitioners," and "Falun Gong is Good" on doors, walls, and gates of the factories that Dafa practitioners pass by everyday to do forced labor. They also distributed truth-clarification pamphlets door to door in the residential area near the labor camp. On Monday December 8, when the police saw this they went into panic. On the same day, many families who were visiting relatives imprisoned in the labor camp also witnessed this. This greatly encouraged the illegally detained Dafa practitioners.
