New Edition of Compassion Magazine
A new edition of Compassion magazine has been completed and will be
available on Feb. 6, 2004. A team of practitioners have worked to produce this
magazine to supplement and assist practitioners' efforts to clarify the facts of
Falun Dafa. After receiving feedback, ideas and suggestions from practitioners in
different regions regarding the magazine's direction and focus, a team of
practitioners worked to outline the specific contents, write the articles and do
the layout design. The magazine's entire contents are formulated by practitioners'
understandings. In producing the magazine, we aimed to provide a comprehensive look at the
persecution in China, the legal initiatives around the world aimed to bring
Jiang Zemin's circle to justice and the true situation of Falun Gong both in
China and around the world. In order to keep the message and information
presented by the magazine relatively focused and not saturate the reader with
too many ideas at once, we mainly focused on these three themes, providing only
cursory references to other important topics, such as family rescue, overseas
persecution/interference, etc. It was our understanding that for specific
issues/truth clarification initiatives -- such as the plots of Jiang's circle
overseas as manifested in the recent incident in France -- the magazine could
serve as a foundation for clarifying the facts about the persecution, while
practitioners can supplement with information and materials about the specific
incidents. While this edition of Compassion took longer to produce than previous
editions, we feel the cultivation process we went through reflected the most
mature effort yet. Looking back at previous editions, we can see short-comings
in the magazine that resulted largely from the ideas and work in some areas
being done by just one or two practitioners. Consequently, some content from
previous editions -- we feel -- was lacking in its wisdom and degree of
comprehensiveness. With this edition, however, much of the content was
formulated, discussed and refined by a number of practitioners and consequently,
has resulted in a more mature and effective presentation. In other words, this
process of practitioners discussing and refining the content of the magazine is
a process of tempering the magazine ... much like we do ourselves in the process
of cultivation, and as a result of this tempering process, more of the bad parts
are discarded and the good parts are emphasized, strengthened and refined. We hope the magazine will prove effective in helping to clarify the facts. If you would like to get copies of the magazine for your truth-clarification

in-depth manner. Specifically, there are articles about Jiang's role in
the persecution, the "610 Office" and the mechanisms for lying
and covering up the persecution in China, along with a couple of diagrams
to graphically show how the persecution is carried out. This section gives a brief overview of the practice and then discusses
how it grew and developed in China and around the world. Civil Disobedience and the Education of China This section gives a glimpse into what practitioners in China are doing
to clarify the facts throughout the country and how they have responded to

This section discusses the persecution of Falun Gong within the context
of International Law (specifically Genocide, Torture and Crimes against
Humanity) and talks about the lawsuits that have been filed around the
world. Also included in this section are profiles of plaintiffs (with an
in-depth story on Wang Yuzhi), lawsuits and attorneys working on Dafa-related
lawsuits as well as an interview with Terri Marsh.

What is Falun Gong?
This article talks about Charles situation in China and the efforts in
the U.S. to free him. There is also a side-bar story about T.V. broadcasts
in China and their significance.
This section provides a number of photo reports about news and events
around the world, including Geneva in March 2003, Washington DC in July
2003, appeals in front of embassies and consulates, family rescue,
conferences around the world and World Falun Dafa Day.
