The Iceberg is Melting: Dafa Practitioners Receive Warm Welcome at Las Vegas Chinese New Year's Celebration in Chinatown (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Every Chinese New Year, Chinese people in Las Vegas hold celebrations in Chinatown, and streams of people come to visit.

Since July 20, 1999, local Falun Gong practitioners have been taking this opportunity to get in touch with local residents, handing out materials to introduce Falun Dafa and explain the facts about Falun Dafa. Because of the adverse influence of the Jiang Zemin regime's propaganda, some people were misled and had misunderstandings toward Falun Gong. Some would even take a detour when seeing our booth. Some people not only refused to take truth-clarifying materials, but also would say something sarcastic.

It used to be quite difficult for us to set up a booth during the Chinese New Year to distribute truth-clarifying materials. This year, the situation was quite different. People accepted the materials and read them while nodding. Quite a few Westerners folded their hands in front to make a bow and said "Thank you" to the practitioners.

A Western man came to our booth and said in fluent and standard Chinese to practitioners, "I'm reading Master Li's books now, and I read the Chinese version. Zhuan Falun is very good; it can truly guide people to cultivate. I followed Master Li's teaching, and I've changed completely." He also said, "It's a pity that many Chinese think that what the government says is right. They uphold the government but not the truth. So they are likely to be brainwashed. I won't be brainwashed by lies made by (Jiang regime's media). I grew up in the Western world, looking at the persecution of Falun Gong from the persecution of Christians. I know what it is."

Many Chinese came to take materials and listen to practitioners explain the facts about Falun Gong. Some wanted to learn the exercises. One Chinese woman said, "I must read the book to see why they (Jiang and his followers) are so afraid of it."

The celebration concluded when the sun set. As the crowd of people dispersed, the practitioners were very pleased. The iceberg is melting; people who have been deceived by lies are awakening.
