Dafa Practitioners Transform the Environment of a Detention Center

On October 1, 2000 I went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa and was sent back to the local detention center. Later, five other practitioners and I were sent to another detention center in a different location to wait for our sentencing to a labor camp. We went on hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and clarified the truth to the guards and other detainees we could contact. That improved the environment of the detention center. Not only could we study the Fa and practice the exercises out in the open, but those detainees who had some understanding of the truth about Dafa also gained a deeper understanding. Some started to study the Fa and practice the exercises with us on the spot.

We felt that we should let all the detainees know that Dafa is good and we also felt that as Dafa practitioners we should not give up the chance to validate Dafa no matter where we were. So five of us decided to use the formality of calling out to validate Dafa in the detention center and let all the people hear that Falun Dafa is good, so as to bring out the guards' compassion and therefore save them.

On October 27 at 5:30 in the morning, it was time for the people in our cell to use the bathroom (In order to leave the cell, we had to wait in line together. We could only use the restroom two times a day, two minutes each time.) Five of us were in front of the line. After the guard said, "You can go back to your cell now" together we immediately yelled out "Falun Dafa is good" "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa!" "Falun Dafa is the Great Law of the Universe!" "We request to be released without charges!" After a brief pause, we said, "Please relay our words!"

This sudden move broke the dead silence and shocked everyone in the detention center. Everyone was shaken by our shouting. The guards didn't know what had happened. The director looked as if he didn't know what to do. Everyone's heart seemed to stop beating and time seemed to stop. The guard with the gun up on top of the building looked at us with a blank face. The assistant director and the guards stared at us and couldn't say a word. This dragged on for a long time and then one of the guards said slowly, "Well then, you can go back first."

Five days later, the director and a few guards came to us and told us honestly, "You have really suppressed us. We have really seen something different in all of you. You have made history in the detention center by going on hunger strike and calling out these statements. We don't know what to do with you so we will send you back quickly. Otherwise we have no idea what you are capable of or what you will continue to do in the next few days." That same evening we were sent back to where we came from and released without charges. We used real actions to deny the arrangements of the old forces. Under Master Li's care and protection, we broke away from the evil's den with righteous thoughts.
