The Relentless Persecution of Yu Yingzhang, a Retired Teacher from Zaozhuang School for the Blind and Deaf, and Her Son Zhang Peng
(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Peng, male, 27 years old, graduated from the Biology
Department of Shandong Teachers' University. He learned Falun Dafa in 1996.
After July 20, 1997, he went with another practitioner to Beijing to appeal for
Dafa, which enraged certain local government officials. As a result, they
continually persecuted him. In February 2000, during the spring festival, Zhang
Peng again went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. The local police illegally
detained him for fifteen days, and his family had to pay three hundred yuan for
his living expenses. In October 2000, on National Day, Zhang Peng went for the
third time to Beijing to validate Dafa. He was detained at Beijing Fangshan
County, No. 1 Detention Center. He was later taken back home by the local police
and jailed at the Zaozhuang, No. 2 Detention Center (his family was required to
pay the police three thousand yuan for the trip fare and seven thousand yuan for
other expenditures). On November 6, he was sent to Zaozhuang Labor Camp by the
Yicheng Police Substation and sentenced to two years in a labor camp. On January 5, 2001, the police transferred Zhang Peng and sixteen other Dafa
practitioners to Zibo Wangcun Labor Camp (Shandong No. 3 Labor Camp). When he
was illegally jailed, Zhang Peng resisted the persecution. During a flag-raising
ceremony, he shouted out loud, "Falun Dafa is good!" The police seized him by
the hair, beat him up with their fists and also used a chair to hit him on the
head. Zhang Peng's nose and ears were bleeding, but the police continued to try
to force him to write the "three letters". On February 22, 2001, Zhang Peng and
another two practitioners (Xumin from Tai'erzhuang and Guo Jialong from Xuecheng)
were dragged by the police from Shandong No.3 Labor Camp to Zaozhuang City No. 2
Hospital (a mental hospital) to be psychologically persecuted. At the mental
hospital, Zhang Peng firmly demonstrated that he was clear-headed, and that he
had no illnesses. He did not cooperate in taking the drugs and injections. He
also clarified the truth to the doctors and nurses. However, the doctors and
nurses said that they were implementing the supervisors' order. They tied him to
the bed and gave him injections against his will until Zhang Peng was dull
looking, drooling and had incontinence of feces and urine. The authorities
fabricated a story that it was because Zhang Peng practiced Falun Gong and
suffered from "qigong psychosis" (Note: After Zhang Peng's father tried with all
his efforts to rescue his son, on July 9, 2001, Zhang Peng was released on bail
after enduring five months of torture in a mental hospital. His family was
required to pay the hospital 6,800 yuan for the expenses incurred while
torturing their son.) On February 4, 2004, Zhang Peng was arrested by the police
while he was distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials and has since been
detained at Zaozhuang No. 1 Detention Center. Yu Yingzhang (Zhang Peng's Mother) is a retired teacher at Zaozhuang School
for the Blind and Deaf. She is 69 years old, and is a teacher with a national
special classification. She learned Falun Dafa in 1997. Since April 25, 1999,
she has been persecuted many times by the authorities, who in turn have tried to
force her to turn in her Falun Dafa books, write the guarantee letter, sign the
certifications and express her intent to give up the practice etc. At noon on April 30, 2001, five policemen suddenly broke into her home. With
no search warrant, they searched her home and confiscated all her Dafa books and
tapes. They also illegally detained Yu Yingzhang at Zaozhuang No. 2 Labor Camp
for twenty-eight days. Yu Yingzhang refused the police's unreasonable demands.
However, the police illegally sentenced her to two years in a labor camp. Later,
after her husband interceded on her behalf, she went home after paying a bail of
three thousand yuan. Despite this, the police still demanded that she report to
them and sign her name three times a day, and she was not allowed to leave her
home. Her workplace arranged for people to keep her under surveillance 24 hours
a day, and she had no personal freedom at all. On September 24, 2002, Yu
Yingzhang was arrested and taken to a brainwashing session by four people,
including Zhang Kai and Gao Tan, who came from Zhongqu Shenli Road residence
committee. She was threatened with being sentenced to a forced labor camp and
being dismissed from her job. At noon on February 11, 2004, twelve persons from Zhongqu Police Substation
of Zaozhuang City, Zhongqu 610 Office and the residence committee illegally
searched her home for four hours without producing any documents. They
confiscated Teacher's photos, Dafa books, materials, tapes and her second son's
printer and scanner (her second son does not practice Falun Dafa). They arrested
Yu Yingzhang and detained her at the Zaozhuang No.2 Labor Camp, where she
remains today. Now Yu Yingzhang's husband, who is 67 years old, the founder of
the Zaozhuang School for the Blind and Deaf, and also a teacher of a national
special class, has to endure the pressure of their home being repeatedly
searched and his wife and son being detained. He has to go to many places to
intercede for them. The three times that Zhang Peng and Yu Yingzhang's home were searched by the
authorities and personal items confiscated were: The first time: July 2000, a computer
was confiscated and they were sentenced to two years in a labor camp. They were
denied their salaries and lost over twenty thousand yuan. The responsible department: the
Political and Security Section of the Yicheng Police Sub-bureau of the Zaozhuang
City Police Bureau; Wang Qizhong, Xing Ling and Liu Jinliang were the
perpetrators. The second time: Noon on April 30,
2001, Dafa books, tapes and Fa lectures tapes, etc. were confiscated. The responsible person: Zhou from
Kekou Police Substation Zhou XX The third time, Noon on February 11,
2004, Dafa books, Teacher's photos, a printer, a scanner, three cases of
hand-written scripts, and hand-written Dafa books, etc., were confiscated. The responsible persons: Twelve
