Thanks to Falun Dafa, My Severe Chronic Illnesses Disappeared

I'm 57 years old this year, and I started to practice Falun Gong in the summer of 1995. Before I started to practice I had a lot of health problems and this was very well-known throughout my work unit.

When I was in elementary school, one morning, I suddenly felt pain in my head and seemed to lose all my strength. Both my arms and legs went weak and lax. Then, I fell to the ground and could not get up. I lay in bed for over three months. When I was close to 40 years old, I felt pain and had swelling in the same place on my head. The symptoms started to get worse and the swollen area and the pain were gradually expanding. I started to feel dizzy very often as if the sky and earth were spinning around. My eyes were severely bloodshot, swollen and painful.

I have had a stomach problem since middle school. In 1973, my stomach had a hemorrhage and it became worse and worse. In 1990, I had a duodenal ulcer and gastritis, which caused serious hemorrhaging fro the lining of my stomach. The bleeding could not be stopped, and I could not be operated on either. The hospital sent me a notice indicating that I was critically ill.

When I graduated from high school, I was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis. After a while, I also got pulmonary tuberculosis. Later, I contracted a chronic tonsil problem, chronic pharyngitis, serious anemia, neurosis, etc.

When I was not even 40 years old, I started to have an ulcer caused by varicose veins in my left leg. It was extremely itchy and I often scratched until I bled so that the pain would replace the itch and I could get a moment's peace. My left leg was always swollen, purple and black. Right before I started to practice Falun Gong, an ulcer had spread from my knee down to the middle of my foot. Whoever saw it was appalled.

In the 1980s, I was diagnosed with a serious case of cervical vertebra osteoproliferation and I passed out many times. I often felt worried about even walking outside, not knowing when I would pass out again and if my life would be in danger. Other problems that even ordinary people find very troublesome like lower back pain, toothache, hemorrhoids, and an anal fissure also plagued me. In a word, my body was full of diseases and ailments and all of them were severe and chronic.

For many years, I looked for a cure. I exhausted myself trying all kinds of methods. I had always been taking medicine over the years, and I worked out a lot. I also practiced multiple forms of qigong. I was struggling very hard and still could not recover. My body was still getting worse and worse. I felt death was approaching, and felt desperate.

In the summer of 1995, just as I was feeling desperate, Falun Gong was introduced in my work unit. My desire for life helped me to accept Falun Gong without hesitation. From the beginning, I was attracted by the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" that Master Li Hongzhi explained. Finally, I saw hope amidst my desperation. Along with being excited, I started diligently practicing Falun Gong. Since then, I have strictly followed "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" in my words and actions. I persisted in practicing Falun Gong exercises every day.

What a surprise! In just a few months, all the severe and chronic ailments and diseases disappeared completely. I had finally tasted healthy living without any illness or pain. Those who have not experienced the torture of a long-term illness could never understand my feelings at that time. Since then, I have not taken any medicine, nor have I taken a single sick day. I feel very energetic while working.

After Jiang's regime started to suppress Falun Gong, I was detained three times for appealing for Falun Gong and clarifying the truth. My family members are often harassed and my home is often ransacked. During some months they would ransack my home several times. I was fined over 6,000 yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly salary for an urban worker in China], and they have been monitoring, tracking and following me for a long period. They also threatened me, saying that they would cut off my pension and keep my children from going to school. They used all the methods they could to try to force me to give up practicing Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth.

I endured the torture of my diseases and ailments for dozens of years. It was Falun Gong that freed me from illness and pain. I have benefited so much from Falun Gong; it is my duty to let more people know the truth about Falun Gong and let more people benefit from Falun Gong. In other words, exposing the lies and clarifying the truth are what I should do. Even when there's danger, I will do it. For several years, even though it was very difficult to clarify the truth, I never wavered, nor have I ever stopped. I firmly believe that there will be a public reckoning of good and evil, and the righteous Fa will automatically be spread. Therefore, as long as the persecution does not end, I will not stop clarifying the truth.
