North Carolina, USA: Falun Gong Practitioners Clarify the Truth to Congressman and Local Residents During Town Hall Meeting (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, March 17, 2004) In Durham, North Carolina, practitioners attended a town hall meeting held by Congressman David Price. The practitioners have attended several town hall meetings by Price in the past to clarify the truth to him and the audience. Each time, the effects were good, as the practitioners were able to ask questions regarding the persecution of Falun Gong, allowing the audience to understand the true situation of the persecution.

On March 15, five practitioners attended the meeting held at an elementary school. There were over 50 people present in the audience. One Western practitioner asked Mr. Price a question about the persecution in China. He brought up the issue about trade with China and human rights, bringing up how Falun Gong practitioners are used as slave labor to make products exported to other countries. Price responded by saying that the issue of Falun Gong should be brought up in Congress whenever issues about China are discussed. He also said that the slave labor issue should be brought to the attention of the WTO, of which China is a member.

At the end of the meeting, two practitioners presented the congressman with a beautiful card signed by practitioners in North Carolina, thanking him for his support in the past. They asked him to sign House Concurrent Resolution 304, which calls for Congress to investigate the overseas harassment of and illegal activities against Falun Gong practitioners and supporters by the Chinese government. Price also received the new edition of Compassion magazine from practitioners.

One unusual thing about this town meeting was that a rival candidate and his campaign members were present. They were conducting TV interviews of members of the audience to post on their website. One practitioner was interviewed and he was able to talk about the persecution of Falun Gong. In the end, practitioners were also able to talk to the rival candidate and campaign crew about the persecution.
