A SYDNEY woman said yesterday her sister, a [practitioner] of Falun Gong, had been abducted after trying to get a visa to visit Australia.

Lisa Liang said her sister, Tang Yiwen, 36, was abducted on Monday in Guangzhou City, Guangdong, after refusing to give up Falun Gong.

The spiritual movement is outlawed in China.

"[My sister] ... was told it was the policy of Guangdong Province that Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to leave China."
