A Practitioner in Dalian, Liaoning Province Is Tortured into Dementia at Dandong Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Qiang, 28, formerly a student of the Dalian University of Foreign Languages and a Falun Gong practitioner, was detained in Dandong Forced Labor Camp after going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Prison guards locked him in a "Strictly Managed Cell" and asked other prisoners to beat him. When Wang Qiang was released, he was in a state of dementia. Prison guard Sun Dian shamelessly claimed, "Wang Qiang is just pretending. I often shock him with an electric baton. When I do that, he runs away."

Wang Qiang's family lives in Tufang Village, Qianyang Town, Donggang City, Liaoning Province. He traveled to Beijing to validate Dafa in 1999 and was arrested by the Donggang police. He was later sent to Donggang Detention Center, where he was severely tortured. In 2000, the Donggang City Police sentenced Wang Qiang to serve in the Dandong Forced Labor Camp.

While in Dandong Forced Labor Camp, Wang refused to write the "Three Letters" (1) and persisted in practicing Falun Gong exercises. The police then placed him in the "Strictly Managed Cell." Policemen Gu Degang and Lv Jingui instructed other prisoners to beat Wang Qiang. Three prisoners would take turns abusing him. They hit Wang Qiang's neck with the edge of their hands, and this caused his neck to swell, hindering his ability to speak. They also beat his legs, and with swollen legs he was unable to walk.

After one month in the "Strictly Managed Cell", the police released Wang Qiang, but he had already been tortured so severely that he was left in a state of dementia. While residing in the "Strictly Managed Cell", Wang Qiang went on hunger strike, and he was force-fed. Police officer Dai (surname), also the head of camp hospital, used steel pliers to knock out Wang Qiang's front teeth during force-feeding because Wang was not opening his mouth. Blood splattered everywhere and Wang Qiang lost consciousness. Wang Qiang's health deteriorated steadily. In October 2000, after medical exam in a hospital, Wang Qiang was diagnosed with "Muscular tissue necrosis" and "Severe Schizophrenia." In reality, Wang Qiang had suffered a mental collapse as a result of the torture he endured.

Fearing responsibility, Dandong Forced Labor Camp released Wang Qiang for medical treatment. Currently, Wang Qiang is in a state of dementia and utterly unable to take care of himself.

(1) Three letters: letters to declare that one is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, that one will not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, nor ever again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.
