65-year-old Sun Guiqin from Chaoyang City was abducted on February 9, 2004, while posting truth-clarifying stickers in Longcheng District. Ms. Yu Huijuan (about 36 years old), Ms. Niu Wenhua (about 44 years old), and Ms. Yang Shuqin (about 57 years old) were arrested at the same time. Policemen from Lingbei Police Substation were involved in the abduction. Sun Guiqin, who is being detained at the National Security Team of the Longcheng Public Security Branch Bureau, has gone on hunger strike, to protest her illegal detention. She was sent to the No. 2 Chaoyang Hospital for emergency treatment because her life is now in great danger. The other practitioners are being detained at the Shijia Hetao Detention Center.

On December 25, 2003, Sun Beilong, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Mahe District of Yichun City, was apprehended by police from the local "610 Office"* for explaining the truth about Falun Dafa to people in the neighborhood. The police first went to his home, pretending to "inspect" his household. Then they unlawfully searched his home and detained him. During his detention, Sun Beilong was tortured on the so-called "Tiger Bench"** and other torture instruments. At the same time, the police arrested two other practitioners (Du Wenliang and Shan Zuowen) because they were somehow connected with Sun Beilong. The two practitioners were sentenced to one year and two years of forced labor, respectively.

Ms. Wang Yunxia, a practitioner who was unlawfully taken to the Harbin Detention Center for Female Drug Addicts, had her initial term extended by one year for persisting in her Falun Dafa cultivation practice.

Qiu Juan, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Maoming City, was taken to the Shanshui Forced Labor Camp because she refused to give up her belief. At the end of 2003, she called home to say that her forced labor term was coming to an end and that she would be back for the Chinese New Year in January 2004. Qiu Juan is single, living with her mother. At the time of this writing, the mother is still waiting for her and cannot help crying every day. She has made phone calls to the forced labor camp and was told that there was nobody named Qiu Juan. We hope that people who can provide information about this case will step forward.

Two Falun Dafa practitioners from Anshan City, Wang Peirong and his wife, were taken from their home. Their heads were covered with a black cloth and both of them were dragged downstairs and bundled into a police car. During the whole process, they remained calm and rational. They drew attention to the violence by shouting out to their neighbors, "Police are abducting good people!" "Falun Dafa is great!"

The police illegally searched their home and stayed there for some time in order to arrest more practitioners coming there. When the police left the home, they took away the keys. Their children went to the police station to retrieve the keys but failed.

Tao Xianda is an employee of High School No.3 and a Falun Dafa practitioner. In 2003, the principal of the school, Li Kun, illegally arrested him and sent him to the Lannigou Brainwashing Class in Guiyang City, where he was subjected to brainwashing. Since he persisted in his beliefs and did not yield, Tao Xianda was sent to the Zhongba Forced Labor Camp for intensified abuse. His current situation is unknown.

**"Tiger Bench" The practitioner is forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall. He has to sit straight up with his eyes looking straight ahead. His hands are placed on his knees. He is not allowed to turn his head, close his eyes, talk to anyone, raise his hand, or call out for the attention of the guards. Many inmates are assigned to watch the practitioner. If he turns his head, they force the practitioner to hold his head in that position indefinitely. If the practitioner raises his hand to call the attention of the guards, they force him to hold his hand in the air indefinitely. If he speaks, they force his mouth to remain open indefinitely. Sometimes the practitioner is forced to kneel to the ground. They then place a wooden bat on his leg and stand on top of the bat.
