On March 8, 2004, Weimin Local Police Station manager Ding Shaopeng, of the Lanxi County Public Security Bureau, arrested local Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Liyan. Also arrested was Ms. Zhang Li on March 19.

Around 2 p.m. on December 7, 2003, Ms. Yuan Jing and Ms. Liu Yaqin were reported to the authorities when they were explaining the truth of Falun Gong to people in Jiexin Square, Hulan County. Yuan Jing received a 4-year sentence and Liu Yaqin received a 3-year sentence.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Shangying, over 60 years of age, is from Qianjiadian Town, Yanqing County, Beijing City. On November 10, 2003, she explained the truth about Falun Dafa in the Supply and Marketing Cooperative Retail Sales Department. She met policeman Cui Quanxi, and wanted to explain the truth to him. But, Cui arrested her immediately and took her to the local police station. Later, he sent Ms. Zhou to the detention center. Zhou Shangying did not cooperate with the authorities, maintained righteous thoughts and returned home the same day. Two months later, Cui Quanxi convinced Zhou Shangying to come to the local police station for a chat. In reality his intention was to arrest Ms. Zhou and sentence her to two years of forced labor.

Dafa practitioner An Yinling of Luohe City, Henan Province distributed Dafa truth-clarification materials in the lobby during the "Congress Meetings." She was kept under surveillance and then arrested. Ms. An is now detained at the Yancheng County Party Committee School Brainwashing Center.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Weihuang, age 60, of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province is a retired teacher. Before the Chinese New Year, Guancheng District Public Security Bureau policemen Li Yong, Li Jianping, Bai Yuping and others broke into her home and arrested her. They also arrested practitioners Mr. Quan Peijian, Ms. Li Huizhen, Ms. Feng Caiqin, Ms. Niu Tongqin, Ms. Zang Yufeng and Mr. Gu Honghao. Fan Weihuang is detained at the Zhengzhou City No. 1 Detention Center. She is suffering from a number of different torture methods. The police have blocked all information about her situation and are not allowing her family members to visit.

Mr. Yu Zhiqiang, 29, is a Dafa practitioner from Anshan City, Liaoning Province. At the end of May 2003, the Anshan City Tiexi Public Security Sub-Bureau Fanrong Local Police Station arrested him, detained him at Haicheng Detention Center and later sentenced him to an 8-year prison term. On March 16, 2004, he was sent to the Eighth Brigade of the Xinsheng Forced Labor Camp, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. Yu Zhiqiang has gone on a hunger strike to resist the illegal sentence and persecution. He is now very emaciated and his life is in danger.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Tang Jianguo of Xiwan Township, Hongjiang City, Hunan Province is over 60 years old. On March 11, 2004, when clarifying the truth of Falun Gong, personnel from the Xiwan Township government arrested him. His whereabouts are unknown.

At 10:15 p.m. on March 22, 2004, policemen from the Lingyuan City Public Security Bureau National Protection Unit arrested Falun Gong practitioners Yang Yongli, Yang Fengqin, Xie Baocai, Chen Qingshan and Ling Wanquan of Maozhangzi Village Goumenzi Town, during a Falun Gong group study. The police took them to the Goumenzi Town Local Police Station. On the afternoon of March 23 the practitioners were sent to the Lingyuan City Public Security Bureau.

On February 15, 2004, the police arrested Ms. Song of Qingfeng Farm, Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province, and confiscated a computer and some truth-clarification materials. During the detention, Ms. Song escaped and walked away. Her whereabouts are unknown. To find her, the police conducted unlawful searches of many Falun Gong practitioners' homes two days later. About 2 to 4 policemen continuously monitored about 10 practitioners' homes for several days and nights. Ms. Zhao Yazhen and Ms. Zhou Fengchun were also arrested and are awaiting sentencing at the Hulin Public Security Bureau. Those responsible for persecuting the practitioners include the local Public Security Bureau, the Hulin Public Security Bureau, the Agriculture and Reclamation Administrative Bureau Police Station and the Provincial Public Security Department.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Yanguo is from Jining City, Shandong Province. As soon as he arrived at the forced labor camp some months ago, he was caged in a small confinement cell. The police tortured him with electric batons in sensitive places on his body, such as the arches of his feet. Mr. Chen did not cooperate with the attempts to brainwash him. More than ten days later, the police transferred him to a different brigade within the labor camp. Policeman Zheng Wanxin is the leader in that brigade. Zheng Wanxin detained Chen Yanguo in a small dark room that was secretly set up in his area of jurisdiction. He deprived Mr. Chen of sleep and tortured him for many days and nights. Later the forced labor camp established a "storm [attack] team," to solely persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Chen Yanguo was then taken there for further torture. He went on a hunger strike to protest, but Zheng Wanxin tortured him even more cruelly under the pretext of force-feeding. Chen Yanguo became emaciated after several months of torture. However, he remains steadfast in his belief and keeps his head high despite his suffering.

Ms. Tan Cairong, aged over 60, lives at the Mechanical Section in Guangzhou City. Her hometown is in Qingyuan. On March 8, 2004, she told her colleagues the facts about Falun Gong during a party for women at her workplace. Somebody informed on her. She again tried to explain the truth to them. They did not listen, but instead teamed up with Railway Bureau policemen and the "610 Office" and set out to capture her [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. So Ms. Tan had to become homeless to avoid being arrested. The police visited her home daily and closely questioned her family about her whereabouts, the color of her clothes, etc. They searched everywhere, including her relatives' homes and her grandson's school in Qingyuan. This kind of harassment has seriously disturbed the peace and well-being of practitioner's family members.

Zhang Lei, female, 27, is the leader of the Second Team, Third Brigade at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and is a graduate of the Jinzhou City Legal School. She has injected steadfast Falun Gong practitioners with drugs that damage the central nervous system. Such injections cause facial paralysis, and the face and body turn black. It is reported that another practitioner detained by this team has been tortured to death recently.

In mid-March 2004, more than ten Huainan Falun Gong practitioners held a small experience sharing conference. Everyone participated actively and spoke about how to do the three things well [study the principles of Falun Dafa, clarify the truth, and send forth righteous thoughts]. The conference greatly encouraged practitioners to strive forward, improve, and to function better as a particle of the Fa-rectification period.

15. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuxiang Is Abducted and Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor for Explaining the Truth of Falun Gong

Huainan Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yuxiang is 45 years old. On the night of January 19, 2004, the public security policemen arrested her and sent her to the detention center because she had told others the truth of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor on March 11, 2004, and is now detained at Hefei Female Forced Labor Camp.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Xia Shige is from Fengjiazhuang Village, Xuzhuang Township, Jizhou City, Hebei Province. On the night of March 13, 2004, several vicious local people arrested him when he was distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials at Wangjiazhuang Village. He was later sent to the detention center by the criminal police No. 2 Squadron of Zhoucun Town, Jizhou City. On March 15, Xuzhuang Township local police station policeman Zhao Junyu, and police officers from Jizhou City Public Security Bureau and Zhoucun Town searched Xia Shige's home and completely ransacked the house. They confiscated a poster with the words, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," and a tape recorder that held an exercise music tape. They only allowed his family members to give Mr. Xia a quilt. Xia Shige is now detained at the Jizhou City Detention Center.

Harbin City Dafa practitioner Liu Huanjiang lives in the Xingguang Area, Dongli District. At 4 p.m. on March 18, 2004, Mr. Liu distributed Dafa truth-clarification materials in the Huachang Area, Dongli District. The police of the Dongli District Daqing Road Local Police Station waited for Mr. Liu to arrest him. Mr. Liu is now detained in the No. 2 Detention Center.

In May 2003, police arrested Ms. Yan Chunling, a Harbin City, Nangang District Dafa practitioner, when she was handing out truth-clarification materials. She was unlawfully sentenced to a 9-year prison term. Because she was severely tortured before being sent to the prison, her health had significantly deteriorated. Therefore, the prison refused to accept her. Ms. Yan is now detained at the No. 1 Detention Center.

Dafa practitioners who are detained beyond their term include: Jiang Jianfeng, Jiang Wei, Dong Guangwen, Zhou Junzhu, Li Xiaodong, Zhu Zhaoshui, Zhu Dechen, Jin Fengxue, Zhang Jingshou, Jin Fanlong, Zhou Xinghai, and others, totaling more than 40 people. We assume that the following practitioners are also among the 40: Mou Changlin, Wen Yingjia, Liu Guangzhi, Hao Jingchun, Sun Liwen, Liu Guangrong, Shao Changpu and Bai Ruisong.

About half a month ago, the police arrested Shandong Province, Shouguang City Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Guihua. She is being detained at the Weifang Detention Center. Ms. Yang has been on a hunger strike to protest her unlawful arrest. She has suffered from a number of different torture methods and her life is in danger.

22. [Tianjin City] Dong Yuying Is on a Hunger Strike to Protest Additional Detention Time

Tianjin City, Ninghe County Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Yuying has been sent for "reeducation" through forced labor for a term of two and half a years. She is detained at the Tianjin City Jianxin Female Forced Labor Camp. Her term is already up, but she was not released. She has been on a hunger strike in protest for more than ten days, and has been brutally force-fed. Her life is in danger.

On March 15, 2004, Xiushan County Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Lirong (41 years old), Mr. Deng Rongyue (42 years old) and Ms. Lin Faying (41 years old) clarified the truth to the local people in their area. The Xiushan County police arrested them. The three practitioners are currently detained at the Xiushan County Detention Center. Prior to this recent arrest, the three had previously been arrested on May 31, 2001 for sharing their experiences in practicing Falun Gong. At that time they were sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Ms. Wang Xiuyan is a Falun Dafa practitioner in the 5.1 Factory of Nanzamu Town, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. In December 2000, Ms. Wang and another fellow practitioner clarified the truth in their local area and were reported to the authorities. The factory security section staff, Yi Guojun, and others took them to the local police station. The two practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the unlawful detention. They were released on the eleventh day of the hunger strike. Ms. Wang rested for a few days, then left home to avoid being persecuted again. She is homeless now, and is without work to earn a daily living.
The 5.1 Factory currently refuses to acknowledge job seniority. The factory paid every employee except Wang Xiuyan, simply because she practices Falun Gong. Yi Guojun, who has been promoted to deputy director, refused to pay her.
