By a Falun Gong practitioner from Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) I knew a Falun Gong practitioner who was a high school student. He was due to take the College Entrance Examination. However, as he had developed a herniated disc, and he was forced to take a leave from school so he could recuperate at home.

In 1996 his parents found that several other people who had similar problems in his area had by cured through practicing Falun Gong. So his parents allowed him to try it, and he started to practice Falun Gong. Exceeding all expectations, he was cured completely within a period of two months, to the delight of him and his family.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin started the suppression of Falun Gong. Due to his own experiences and the beneficial effects Falun Gong had on his body, the high school student knew that the state-run media's propaganda distorted the facts and were full of lies. He decided to go to Beijing to appeal and tell the government that Falun Dafa was good using his own experience as an example. He didn't know that the Appeals Office of the Central Commission of the Party had become a place to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. After being arrested, he was escorted back to the Police Department of Zhaodong City. On the very day when he was escorted back, the "610 Office"⁽¹⁾ of Zhaodong, headed by Fan Xiaoguang, Liu Weizhong, Ren Diansheng and Zhao Renwu, ordered the police to beat Falun Gong practitioners who were escorted back. Li Xingfu, the director of Fendou Police Station, led policemen Ju Yagui, Yi Hongbo, Tan Wei and the section leader Zhu Ming to assault the practitioners. They kept beating practitioners using broomsticks, leather whips, bamboo rods, and shoes, and tried to force them to curse Dafa and Teacher. This high school student never yielded to the torture. Five or six policemen beat him until he fell on the ground. Then, they took off his pants, stepped on his head, beat him in turn. Whenever one got tired, another one would take over. They broke their bamboo and broom rods, beating him to the point where he was bleeding profusely. Even so, this high school student refused to curse Teacher. Seeing this, Ju Yagui shouted: "Put salt on his wounds, I will see if he curses or not!"

Another policeman found three pieces of thick metal wire, twisted them together, and used a pair of pliers to make a hook on one end. They used this iron whip to beat the high school student and ripped the flesh from his body, creating ghastly wounds all over his body. But from the beginning to end, the high school student never cursed Teacher or Dafa; he risked his life to safeguard Dafa and Teacher's dignity.

Later, he was put in a detention center. The poor living conditions there worsened his wounds quickly. A lot of the flesh that had been ripped festered, and in some places his bones were visible through these wounds. He also developed a persistent high fever. Zhang Guoquan, a guard in this detention center, used a broom to beat the high school student in this condition. The pain was excruciating. The student screamed once and fainted. The next day, Fan Xiaoguang, Liu Weizhong, Ren Diansheng, and Zhao Renwu from the "610 Office" escorted him to a hospital for emergency treatment. When going to clean the wounds, the doctor said that he had no place to start since there seemed to be no end or start to the wounds.

In some places, where his bones were exposed, the doctors thought it might be impossible for the wounds to heal completely. The doctor said that he might not last even more than a few days if he were to leave the hospital, since there was a great risk of him developing blood poisoning. The nurses in the hospital angrily blamed the policemen, "Even to a convict sentenced to death, you should not treat him this way, much less just a Falun Gong practitioner! Are you policemen? You are just bandits without humanity!" Facing these words, the policemen were speechless.

During the period when the high school student was in the hospital, some people from the "610 Office" said that he would be sent back to the detention center after he recovered. Two policemen were stationed at the hospital to watch him, and his family members were not allowed to get close to him. The two policemen even shamelessly asked his parents to treat them to meals. His parents visited the police supervisors and finally got permission to take care of him. People in the "610 Office" extorted 4,000 Yuan from his family members as bail for his release. After getting home, the police station sent someone to his home to threaten him by saying that if he went to Beijing again, his parents would be arrested, too. Policemen went to his home and disturbed his family members every two or three days, making all of his family members very scared. It was gratifying that the high school student didn't suffer blood poisoning. Amazingly, he has recovered quite well. Someone asked the high school student, "Do you hate those policemen who beat you?" He answered, "No. They are also people deceived by lies. I only hope that they will awaken as soon as possible."

This is the story of a high school student, a story of a Dafa practitioner who risked his life to safeguard Dafa.
