(Clearwisdom.net) This March, the computer exhibition held in Hanover was one of the biggest of its kind in the world. It was a very good chance to get in touch with many people from Mainland China and Taiwan. In order to let more Chinese people know the truth about Falun Gong, practitioners from northern Germany were at the exhibition almost every day. At the same time, there were also practitioners near the train station in the city centre and at some entrances to the exhibition. Afterwards, they managed to set up an information point in the city.
Distributing leaflets
Practitioner one: We mainly distributed leaflets that explained the truth to people from Mainland China and Taiwan. The group I stayed with was at the north exit of the exhibition. There was one gentleman who came from Taiwan. He asked me about the details of Falun Gong's situation in China; he wanted to know the reason for the persecution of Falun Gong. I told him how Falun Gong amazingly improved practitioners' health and how it became widely popular, which led to Jiang Zemin's jealousy. I tried my best to answer all of his questions. In the end, he seemed to be quite satisfied with my explanations. He said he would tell his relatives and friends.
I talked to many Chinese people. I asked them whether they would please pass on the contents of the leaflets to their relatives and friends, because this information is very precious. It can only be obtained overseas and the lives of Falun Gong practitioners in China are in severe danger. When I asked for their help directly and sincerely, their reactions were not what I expected; they were listening to me and gradually realizing the severity of the persecution.
Everyone seemed to be in a hurry, but we were still able to clarify the truth to nearly all the people. Also, we distributed many leaflets.
Stories from the information desk
Practitioner two: We set up an information desk in the city centre--a big table with all kinds of truth-clarification material laid out. Beside the table, we put up a big blackboard with pictures showing evidence of the persecution and 907 photos of Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured to death in prisons and labor camps. We also hung up a big banner that read 'FALUN GONG'. To begin with there were six practitioners; a few more joined later on.
The square was always lively and bustling; people from far and near all passed through this place. Though there were four of us distributing leaflets together, we still missed some passers-by. On that day, many young people came to our desk. There was a whole class of students who came over and signed the petition against Jiang Zemin's immunity from prosecution for his heinous crimes. They also took away one blank signature form for their teachers to sign.
There was one lady who came to our desk who said she had been to Beijing and Tiananmen Square. In the square, she saw some elderly women open a Falun Gong banner. Policemen arrived immediately and treated them barbarically. At that point, her guide forbade her to watch this scene. This lady was absolutely shocked!
There was also a man who gave the impression of being agitated. He was deluded by lies. He knew a lot about the political circumstances of China, Taiwan and the whole world. His mood was very irascible and he spoke to us very loudly. This actually attracted other people to come to our desk to have a look, some of whom also signed the petition against the dictator's immunity. We listened to this man very patiently. To keep my mind entirely calm was a little hard as he said a lot of hateful words about practitioners. I truly understood that this was a test for me, and my feelings wobbled just slightly. I wanted him to have a better understanding of Falun Gong, but he did not give us the chance to talk. After he thanked us for our frankness and honesty, he swaggered off. Perhaps we may meet him again in the future.
Sometimes, some Chinese people would come over to ask us for street directions. One of the practitioners from Taiwan would show them the way. As they did not know much about Hanover, this Taiwanese practitioner would accompany them for a very long distance. Meanwhile, we used this opportunity to clarify the truth to them. I thought this was a very effective way of explaining the truth about Falun Gong.
There was a young man who told me that he heard our music when he was crossing the street, and found us by following the direction of the sound. He is actually a Falun Gong practitioner from Iran! He came to Hanover to visit friends. Afterwards we had a clearer understanding about why this computer exhibition was held. Many Chinese people that we talked to had been waiting to know the truth about Falun Gong for ages. We came to Hanover for them!
