On December 9, 2000, Zhao Hong and other officers from a police station in the Tiexi District arrested Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Honghong and Ms. Wei Yuhong and sent them to the No.1 Section of Shenyang City's Police Department. With instructions from section chief Pan and in collaboration with Zhao Hong, other policemen in the No. 1 Section beat the Dafa practitioners badly.

They cuffed Ms. Wei Yuhong's hands behind her back, hung her up and beat her. When they felt tired, they hung her even higher and then threw her to the ground. Wei Yuhong's eyes were severely injured instantly. Her eyes bulged and turned outward. The handcuffs were so tight that they cut into her flesh. The scars on her hands are still as big as a golf ball. Her legs were kicked so badly that she cannot walk. After she was put down, the policemen handcuffed her backward on a pole. When they felt tired, they put their legs on Wei's arms as a resting place and even pressed down hard.

At the same time, Li Honghong was beaten by another group of policemen. The names of the policemen are unknown.

In addition, the same group of policemen beat up a male practitioner so badly that one of the practitioners suffered two broken ribs and lost his ability to walk. Later on, he was sent to Shenyang City's Detention Center and was then sentenced to three years of forced labor in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp.

Xiang Lianjie is a Dafa practitioner from Lushuihe Town, Fusong County, Baishan City. In 2001, s/he was reported to police for making truth-clarifying materials and was sentenced to three years of forced labor. This practitioner's term expired on February 10, 2004; however, the forced labor camp has not yet released the practitioner. It's said that policemen often beat up Xiang Lianjie because s/he refuses to give up his/her belief and is rock-solidly determined to continue practicing Falun Dafa. Each time, while doing the so-called "Breaking the stubborn ones" (cruel persecution against Dafa practitioners who refuse to give up their belief), police lash this practitioner with leather belts, hit him/her with wooden sticks and pour salt water on him/her when they are done with their other abuses.

During the morning of February 29, 2004, police arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Jianlu and Ms. Shi Huijun from their home on Banpo Street, Gujiaying Town, Xuanhua County. They are now being detained at Xuanhua County's Detention Center.

On Saturday, March 6, police from Sa District's Police Department arrested Dafa practitioner Tang Zengye while he was attending the funeral of fellow practitioner Li Yuanguang from the Daqing Education Institute. Practitioner Mr. Li Guidong from Dongfengxin Village was arrested at the same time. Police ransacked his home but did not find anything, so they confiscated a computer and released the practitioner in the afternoon of the same day.

At around 8:30 a.m. on March 3, 2004, Zhang Jijun and nine other officers from Lishu County's Fenghua Police Station went to Dafa practitioner Ms. Qiao Shuzhen's home and attempted to arrest her. Qiao climbed down the drainpipe from the third floor and escaped from danger with the power of her righteous thoughts.

On February 24, 2004, two Dafa practitioners from a county in Siping City walked a whole night to a remote village 50 kilometers (approximately 30 miles) away. They distributed over 200 copies of truth-clarifying materials and hung over 70 banners that read, "Falun Dafa is Good," "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice" and others. This greatly shocked the persecutors.

Since July 20, 1999, the detention center in one county of Siping City, Jilin Province has detained group after group of Dafa practitioners. In the beginning, the center head and wardens often beat up these practitioners. After the practitioners clarified the truth to them, they all changed their attitudes. They no longer persecute practitioners when they find practitioners doing the exercises or studying the Fa. Dafa practitioners have written one of Master's poems from Hong Yin on a wall. Even the common prisoners can recite it.

On March 11, 2004, two security guards found practitioner Ms. Lu Xiujun from Bei Guan, Gaizhou City spray-painting the words "Falun Dafa is Good" at the Xiaoyu resident building and reported her to police. [Note: Without access to any typical means of communication such as newspapers, magazines, TV, or radio, Falun Gong practitioners in China have resorted to many creative and sometimes unusual methods for raising awareness among Chinese people about the persecution.]

Afterwards, policemen from the Gulou Police Precinct arrested her. She is presently being detained at Gaizhou City's Detention Center. Each guard got a 500 Yuan reward.

On the evening of March 4, 2004, practitioner Ms. Wang Weihua from Chicheng County, Hebei Province was arrested while she was clarifying the truth. She is now being held at Chicheng County's Detention Center. Meanwhile, police have searched her home.

Under instructions from the "610 Office,"(1) persons from every unit, village, brigade, township, town and police precinct of Chicheng County are assigned to monitor and follow practitioners, as well as tapping their phone calls. Officials in Chengguan Town even hired some unemployed gang members to stake out every street corner and set up checkpoints to catch the practitioners who distribute truth-clarifying materials.

In early March 2004, practitioner He Yulin from Chibi City was taken into a detention center because someone reported him/her distributing truth-clarifying materials in the daytime in the Leijia'ao Area.

At around 11:00 p.m. on March 10, 2004, policeman Long Xinshui, Chibi City's Criminal Team chief, and Ma Sihai, the city's National Security Team chief, forced the Liqiao Police Precinct chief to arrest 64-year-old Mr. Huang Lianqing from home and take this practitioner to a detention center. When Huang Lianqing's family inquired for the reason of the arrest, the police department head replied, "Sue us in court if you can!"

In addition, according to a policeman's unintentional disclosure, practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaolian from Chibi Town was secretly sentenced to two and a half years of imprisonment.

Lawless officials from Duozhuang Town's "610 Office," Mengyin County, maltreat practitioners. They first arrest practitioners and then sentence them to imprisonment or forced labor. After that, they ransack practitioners' homes and loot all property and money, including savings, food, furniture and clothes, and even doors, windows and carpets. The only thing left is an empty shell of a house. Practitioners' families abandon their homes and live in exile.

Practitioner Ms. Ji Chengzhen was sentenced to three years of imprisonment when her child was in high school. Because of the illegal arrest, the child could not continue his education and went to Qingdao City to make a living.

Ms. Zhou Guihua and Mr. Liu Fenghou were sentenced to three years of imprisonment. Their homes were ransacked and completely looted of anything of value. There was nothing left -- the house was empty. All practitioners in Mengyin County are persecuted in this way. Local people said that these lawless people are the worst ruffians in history.

In the beginning of 2004, practitioners Ms. Tang Lifang and Ms. Wu Zexiu were arrested as they were distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The officials from Guiyang City's Weiqing Police Precinct sent them to Guizhou Province's Female Forced Labor Camp.

Note: In 2003, a new chief took this position. Since then, several practitioners have been persecuted. On December 3, 2003, practitioner Ms. Wang Yuli was arrested and taken to the Lannigou Brainwashing Class in Guiyang City and has not been released.

Right now, many detained practitioners who once succumbed to the vicious persecution at Guizhou Province's Zhongba Forced Labor Camp now solemnly announce: all the "five statements"(2) written under the high pressure are void. They will firmly follow the teachings of Dafa and safeguard the Fa until the end. Their righteous action infuriated corrupt officials in the labor camp, who started another round of persecution. None of these practitioners, however, are giving up Dafa practice now in spite of the vicious persecution. They are eliminating the evil with the power of their righteous thoughts. The powerless police have no way to defeat them.

On March 12, 2004, officers from the Nanta Police Precinct/Shuangta District arrested practitioner Mr. Liu Lixin from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.

At about 3:00 p.m. on February 16, 2004, practitioner Mr. Cai Zhongming was arrested at the No.3 Building in the Residential Area, Chengdu No. 60 Chemical Factory, Huayang Town, Shuangliu County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It was said that at that time Mr. Cai and his son were installing some electric lines. An unmarked car drove to their home. Several plainclothes people pushed Cai to the ground and forcibly arrested him. His son's clothes were torn while trying to prevent his father's illegal arrest. A witness said, "It is extremely unfair! What is happening in our county?"

At around 5:00 p.m. on March 14, 2004, several policemen from Jinzhou City surrounded Mr. Cheng Guoxue's home and arrested him as well as practitioners Mr. Cheng Dadong, and Ms. Ren Yuan. They also confiscated a computer and some money. Cheng Guoxue's wife walked away from the arrest with the power of her righteous thoughts. According to witness, the police car drove off in the direction of Jinzhou City.

Ms. Luo Pinghua, a teacher from the Foreign Language Department of Sichuan University, is detained in cell No. 11-04.

Ms. Yu Xuemei, from Chengdu City spoke loudly, "Falun Dafa is Good," and clarified the truth of Falun Gong in the detention center. Thus, police tortured her and glued her mouth shut to prevent her from speaking. She staged a hunger strike to protest. At present, she is detained in cell No.11-04.

Ms. Li Binglan has been detained for ten months. She is detained in cell No. 11-04.

Ms. Yang Qingxia, a professor from Sichuan University, is being held in a detention center. She moves all the people around her with a practitioner's compassion and validates Dafa with her righteous actions.

In March 2004, Gao Fengshan, Yonghe Village's Security Section chief, reported four practitioners including Mr. Zhang Delong from Tuanshanzi Township, Yilan County, when they were clarifying the truth. Officers Zhao Yinxiang and Zhang Huanyou from Tuanshanzi Township's Police Precinct arrested them and put them into Yilan County's No. 2 Detention Center.

My name is Zhang Shuping, and I am a Dafa practitioner from Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. In 2003 I was illegally put into Jiamusi City's Prison. My head hurts all the time, but that is not of my doing. Prior to my detention, as a result of the persecution, I sustained a head wound and had to have surgery. It is painful even when I sit still. On August 18, 2003, the head wound made me have a fever and I could not work, but the team head forced me to work anyway. He said, "The government is suppressing Falun Gong. If you do not obey my orders, I will torture you!" I said, "We have never violated the law and yet we have been persecuted. I cannot work because I am ill." Policeman Yang Yongnian, the team head, savagely beat me, hitting me on the head six or seven times until blood came out of my mouth.

On October 26, 2003 we refused to wear the prisoners' uniforms. For this I was locked up in a small cell for 19 days and in a "tightly administrated" cell for two days. We were given only two meals a day while in the small cell. The conditions were terrible, causing me severe physical and mental anguish. The Jiamusi City Prison is a vicious den that tramples human rights.

(2)Five statements: Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance for having practiced Dafa in the first place, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong or associate with other Dafa practitioners, a promise not to appeal, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
